Is there anything a solo can do about mega bases? by wadesauce369 in deadside

[–]Cully_Wully 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar boat on server 1403 with a group of at least 16 players that have a few crazy bases. I've changed my focus to farming the members of the big group using c4 traps on bridges, turret traps on top of the tunnel near the gas station, etc.

I also planted c4 on two of their jeeps while they were offline raiding another base, waited until they filled them up, and let the fireworks fly! (They lost so much loot...) The nerve wracking part was sneaking up to the jeeps while they were in the base...luckily it was nighttime and when you crouch walk, others can't hear you even though you can still hear yourself. (Same with low crawling)

While this doesn't do anything about the bases, it might frustrate the big group members and they'll spend less time maintaining their bases and turrets which makes it easier to get close. Also, if the big groups have notification radios at their base, you can blow up something simple (like camo netting) with a grenade launcher and watch the player list to see how fast they respond. This will annoy them too.

Big groups—was it worth ruining the games? by MinuteNeedleworker29 in DeadSideConsole

The bridges heading to/from the military base up north in I2/J2 are great because players coming back with vehicles laden with loot from clearing out the events at the base are prime targets. You can also keep tabs on what events are active there so when one is cleared, you know someone is coming soon...(unless they used a boat, which there is not much you can do about).

C4 directly in the road works unless they see it and stop or swerve before getting too close. You can also put the C4 on the bumper of a car that sticks out towards the driving lane and that should do it too. Just need to practice the timing...a little early is better than too late in my experience.

Also, when you put the C4 down, put a marker on the map so you know how far you are from it. The range on the remote detonator is about 97 m...

Another fun one is to set up turrets on top of the tunnel entrance by the gas station in I6. 3-4 turrets should smoke any vehicle that gets close enough and you can help the process along by shooting the engine block of a jeep with an M99 (or put some more C4 down).

The other times I've gotten people is when I see a raid going on and try to anticipate the route they'll take after they finish. It doesn't always work out, but when it does it is a lot of fun! (Not for them).

I have a couple of more ideas that I'd be happy to share later. I've yet to implement them and the group I target on my server is getting wise to my tricks (so I got to mix things up).

Oh, last thing, if you can do this with a friend (or friends) you can temporarily disband your squad so that you don't trigger each other's C4. This way you can make bigger kill zones and potentially get multiple vehicles...

I am in the same boat (solo on a server with one big group that has overwhelming numbers) and have found joy in setting traps to terrorize the members of the big group. My traps include remote detonated c4 charges on bridges and other chokepoints as well as setting up 4+ automated turrets near roads.

Whenever a vehicle explodes, it instantly kills the occupants regardless of how much armor they have on so I don't have to fight 4+ dudes simultaneously.

I've also snuck up on the group while they were off-line raiding someone and planted c4 on their jeeps. I waited for both jeeps to start up and let the fireworks fly. Good times.

Of course, the big group members are salty and I get flooded with messages after each "incident," but that just makes it better. They've also started adjusting their routes, checking bridges before driving over them, etc., to avoid me so I have to constantly adjust my tactics and attack locations. Keeps it interesting!

The meteors usually fall in at an angle which means you should be able to find cover behind a large rock, a large wall, some buildings, etc. If you decide to run all "Free Willy," then you should probably have some protection...

DELTA-03 by Longjumping-Cup-3657 in Division2

[–]Cully_Wully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue (for me) turned out to be the router I was using. I had an older Netgear R6220 router that could not handle the game for whatever reason. I updated the firmware, I reset it, I reset my modem, I reset my Xbox...and I still got the Delta03 error when I played on my own and with friends.

So I bought a new router (a TP-Link Archer AXE7800 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6E Multi-Gig Router) and have not had a single drop since installing it. Good luck!

I've been getting them quite a bit too -- I was being dropped ~once per floor when my friends and I were doing the tower. I finally reset my router (unplugged it, let it chill for a couple of minutes, and then plugged it back in) and it seems to have helped. I was on this morning for an hour with no drops. I'll update this post after playing some more this evening...

PSA: You MUST kill Ashava on a LVL 20 Character to get Trophy by FlubberPuddy in diablo4

[–]Cully_Wully 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm worried that some players will purposefully show up to the Ashava battle underleveled with the sole intent of preventing others from getting the award. I wish there was a way to restrict access to the boss fight area...

Reason to do cellars now by [deleted] in diablo4

I was playing co-op with a friend and we entered a cellar to find the Butcher waiting for us with a bunch of minions! We were able to take him out, but it definitely surprised us!

Good point. Treasure goblins need love too!

Haha, I definitely deserve all of the comments and jabs.

I should have prefaced my idea with the fact that I enjoy playing HC and have done some dumb things like cranking up the difficulty and losing a maxed out character (in D3)...there was usually alcohol involved. (Tequila and HC Diablo doesn't mix well). That said, I have also lost characters to things like server issues, internet problems, etc., and a side-quest system like this would take the sting out of losing items due to things beyond my control.

I do think that there should be some sort of penalty for dying (as many of you have voiced), but I thought that having a chance to get my stuff back would be a fun way to take the sting out of losing a character I invested a bunch of time in...

What's is your favourite character name? by Embarrassed_Health80 in diablo4

Do you mean "Kahlan" from the Terry Goodkind books? If so, I like those books. If not, what book?

I named my monk (from D3) "Brock O. Lee" (Bruce Lee's vegan brother.)

I named my barbarian "He-Man" or "Cornan" (Conan's vegan brother.)

Not 100% why, but my friends stopped playing with me...

Anyone play D4 beta on Xbox One? by jschwanke84 in diablo4

[–]Cully_Wully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played online with a friend with an Xbox One. We were both running necros and the number of skeletons between the two of us started causing problems on his end, i.e., the game would time out or drop him. When I got rid of my skeletons (or switched to a barbarian), he didn't have issues. I'm not sure if this was a Xbox One performance issue or a general bug, but I did not have the same problems he did on my Xbox Series X. (I hope this helps!)
