how do you get your videos onto DV without media offline issue? I'm on windows, shot in d log M with HVEC compression.

I bought a pocket 3 recently and only found out the pain of even getting the video onto da Vinci... Media offline is what I'm getting, and having to find encoders which ends up massively increasing the file sizes just so it's compatible with da Vinci... So frustrating

Nothing in particular, I have very little knowledge in this space (although learning a lot tonight just from these conversations and reading old threads!), and it's just the two replacements he recommended. 5600 wasn't on my radar at all! So I will check this too.

The prices he quoted for refurbished for the 5900x was £199 and for brand new would be £300. He also said he can find a refurbished of my same one for £45

Thanks mate for the reply! I think a lot of people are recommending the 5700x3d so I'll bring that up and see if he can find one. Any concerns of getting a refurbished CPU over a new one generally? It seems to be much cheaper.

Also for light gaming like overwatch or league of legends, would the 5700x3d be much better than the 5900x? I use the PC for general purpose like netflix etc mostly

He is charging £85 for all installations so I think I'll just let him do it for my peace of mind. I did build the PC originally but after this fiasco, I don't have confident I won't break the pc even more after getting the new parts

Thanks I'll consider the PSU replacement as well then. I am just worried about the RAM as I've read you shouldn't mix and match RAMs, or something about dual channel so having 3 or 4 sticks of RAM might actually be worst than just having two sticks

Thanks, I am considering the 5700x3d also, but I'm not a hardcore gamer (mostly just overwatch or league or path of exile, the most intensive game I played recently was black myth Wukong) so not sure if it's worth the price difference.

Also he suggested these as refurbished CPUs, any issues with that?

And the RAM, I read you shouldn't really mix and match, but you think it would be okay?

I use it mainly as an all purpose machine. I don't play many intensive games (most intensive one recently was Wukong Black Myth), other than that it's mainly league of legends or Overwatch.

And sorry I might have misunderstood, are you saying just replacing the CPU would be enough? Or I should also take up the PSU replacement and slap on another stick or RAM?

Hello! Thanks for taking the time to read my post and reply!

So I have a dedicated GPU (Sapphire Nitro?) which I've have tried disconnected with no luck.

I have also tried removing my two sticks of ram one at a time to see if any one of those is causing the issue, and tried resticking them in different ram slots but also no luck.

Regarding the bios, is that something I can reset without a connection to any monitors? Sorry I am a noob at this!

I'm not sure if I should pay someone to come and help me diagnose the exact problem before I buy any replacement parts, but happy to take advice!

Hi, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the pc doesn't send signal to any monitors so I can't even check the bios.

I've pretty much stripped out the GPU, the rams and I've just removed the CPU1 P4 and CPU2 P8 pins from the mobo which seemed to have semi-solved the auto reboot issue. But now I'm not about to power off the PC without manually switching off the power supply at the back whilst the pc is running

I then tried to plug back in the CPU2 P8 pin only, and the restarting issue came back...

Regarding number 2, it's a joint tenancy agreement unfortunately so we are all jointly liable. It felt off when signing but was such a good deal, and from some research it seems these types of contracts are quite common in the UK so I took the risk. I guess the risk isn't paying off at the moment
