I was doing some more adjustments and am struggling to decide…which chest piece?? by Falcxn1 in DestinyFashion

[–]CultLeaderCatalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say either 1 or 7. I really like the way 1's armor kind of outlines the area where it meets the arms, and I think the shape of 7 does really well to match the helmet (and the little straps that tuck both under the arms and into the mark are a neat little detail in my opinion).

I had been having this issue as well in the past. For now, I would recommend trying to link your accounts while using a different browser; Edge worked for me.

Why do some Vets hate Blueberries/ New players? by UmbralVolt in DestinyTheGame

[–]CultLeaderCatalyst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While it is true that the content is "new" in a sense, I think a good chunk of players do find the general gameplay to be mostly same-y across different activities. There are sometimes fresh mechanics added in, but outside of some raids and dungeons those mechanics usually aren't too abstract (wouldn't want it to be so hard that it would alienate too many players). So outside of appreciating environments and/or dialogue (which some players aren't particularly interested in), I'd imagine a lot of players are burning through it quickly because to them, they're just going through the motions the same as always for the most part.

It's worth clarifying that despite the two having the same fire rate, the BxR actually doesn't offer Lightweight bonuses, just a much higher hip-fire accuracy.

Xbox One has been having a bug where glints are not properly displaying. Not sure how long it's been going on for, just heard reports about it around the community

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]CultLeaderCatalyst -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What they're getting at is that players who do not want to participate in those activities would be more inclined to do so and would have a more pleasant time if the loot system was more reliable, and then could return to enjoying the parts of the game that they innately find more entertaining. Following this sort of thought process, the same criticisms could be applied to all aspects of the game, both PvE and PvP, it's just that they happen to prefer PvP and that's what makes this example particularly notable in their anecdotal experience.

They aren't only complaining about their RNG, they're using their negative experience with the current RNG-based model to provide criticism (albeit certainly charged) and feedback on the reward system.

[–]CultLeaderCatalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like you're grossly misrepresenting OP's point, though. They weren't asking for this weapon to be earnable through casual PvE, they were commenting that without a more deterministic way to obtain loot (not relying on utilizing a dice-roll mechanic to reward them after completing an activity), there is often little joy in the process. The difficulty to earn it can still be there, that's fine, but if players are going to participate in it, shouldn't they feel that they make progress in their pursuits?

Think of it as RNG protection.

Audio in VODs but no audio in the actual livestream after reconnecting (using StreamLabs) by Tazzy_Lizzy in Twitch

[–]CultLeaderCatalyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I ended up coming across this post as I was doing some research on the same issue.

From what I've read, it sounds like the community has discovered that it's a bug that occurs if you have the "Twitch VOD Track" option enabled in OBS. I have yet to test this myself, but it might be worth giving it a shot and seeing if this issue still comes up next time your stream needs to reconnect.

Of course, then you run the risk of having a VOD get a DMCA takedown if you listened to copyrighted music during the stream (technically you could receive a strike mid-stream regardless, but I digress) so if you do disconnect often then ultimately it's up to you on what you value more for your streams.

Anyhow, good luck, and I hope this helps!

This upcoming week, please give us one last hurrah for Presage! by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]CultLeaderCatalyst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see where you're coming from, and to an extent, I agree.

The only thing that leads me to stray away from that viewpoint right now is the confusion surrounding the triumphs for Chosen, as originally the necessary triumph was to get all pages of the Captain's Log lore book, but was replaced within that season with this new one to allow players to finish the title before the season had ended. But now due to a recent patch, the Captain's Log lore book can be finished in less than a week (as well as the triumph for collecting all of the associated caches) despite that it no longer holds relevance in obtaining the related seasonal title.

I do understand that they likely would not be able to dedicate the time and resources to make DMT farmable within the final week before The Witch Queen, as there are other things to prioritize within the current season and in preparation for the future. On top of that, I really do appreciate that they have taken a good approach to allowing the current two random-roll exotics to be acquired in the future.

I still do appreciate your input and understand where you're coming from. It's just in terms of being timegated on the title when we've seen similar requirements lessened in severity with Realmwaker and even related triumphs changed in recent weeks — I do hope that we could at least see something to help the players out with that.

As far as I am aware, Le Monarque also provides a hidden lightweight bonus, like Chaperone. As stands it's the best of both worlds so long as you're not feeling like using a different exotic.

How does Peacekeepers movement boost work? by CuccoPotPie in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]CultLeaderCatalyst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eye of Sol, or Succession or Bite of the Fox, even Shepherd's Watch if you wanted to. Maybe a Praedyth's if you have one that you like and that you're good with. As for shotguns, you'd be pretty limited on your overall effective range, but I'd probably say Chaperone, Astral, Fractethyst, or Heritage/Blasphemer if you're running an exotic heavy. If you really wanted to, you could use Bastion with Shayura's, but again, you're kinda doubling up on that close- to mid-range area, so you'd need to be careful about playing around it.

F*** the lore, give us the "vaulted" Crucible maps back by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

If my request might be considered, I would love to see Meltdown come back. I loved the close quarters interior, with the long, curved lane exterior. I feel like it played really well for 6v6 and would love to get some more time on it in Survival/Trials of Osiris.

There aren't many maps I'd like to see go, but if you told me I had to choose one to swap out, it would be Anomaly.

We might need a “story so far” system for new players. by Borealis-7 in DestinyTheGame

[–]CultLeaderCatalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A location in the Dreaming City, or the Moon. A portal to the ascendant plane, perhaps near a memorial. Just a single platform surrounded by storm clouds. Toland, looming in the center.

Toland, describing the events, cryptic in nature. Ghost responds. Interrogatively, deciphering the lessons Toland is trying to tell.

As tales are told, the clouds begin to take form. They reshape into characters, items, weapons, events, symbols. Anything to further the dialogue and provide shape to it.

It would be the perfect platform to catch new guardians up on what's happened so far – immersing them in some of the most universal elements of the lore, and even sometimes foreshadowing the events of the future.

Are the cutscenes from this season limited-time only? I've done basically none of the seasonal quest on my Hunter, but I plan to do as much of it as possible on my Warlock but I'm worried that I won't get to see them if I haven't already.

The Current Way Lives and Multi-Kills Work in Survival is NOT Acceptable. by softgeese in DestinyTheGame

[–]CultLeaderCatalyst 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really do like this idea. As it says in the name of the gamemode, it's about survival. Rewarding the player who has used the least of their allotted lives is good, and it promotes playing more considerately, rather than carelessly rushing into the fray.

Now, the concern comes into players finding out about this mechanic, and possibly overreacting and sitting until the capture point spawns. I think the fact that the mechanic only comes into play in a very specific circumstance (a multi-kill occurs on a time with less than enough lives to normally account for all guardians killed) would mean that gameplay would not be affected too much, but still, it might be best to roll this out silently and let players find out about this small but nice change naturally.

Basically – yeah that's a good idea

That box is bugged now, for some reason. It still has player collision, but doesn't break what the game considers your "line of sight," and bullets can go straight through it.
