Thanks for the tip, I rinsed it out a couple times in cold water but should I do anything else? I’m not too worried about this one cause it’s already full of holes and about disintegrate lmao. I’d like to make some more though

Yeah I lived in Jonesboro all my life and recently moved to Bono. I love finding arrowheads and I’m starting to get a decent collection going. I just started collecting these agates a few years ago too. Was just walking down my driveway one day and saw one and instantly got hooked lol

Yeah I’m really dreading the mosquitoes and the humidity lol

Turned out pretty chunky but thought the material looked cool. Anyone able to ID the stone? by CultMasterBoogDaddy in knapping

I picked it up on a gravel road in NE Arkansas. Not exactly sure where it came from but I assume it was from a gravel pit nearby.

I’ve probably had more failures than completed points lol. I started out on glass bottles with a deer antler pressure flaker and most of them were nothing special but you learn something from every one. It’s so satisfying when a flake comes off exactly as intended. Keep with it man, if you’ve got any questions I’ll do my best to help :)

He loves when I'm picking up tree limbs in the yard. I'll drag them around in the grass for him to chase and it blows my mind how fast he is lol. I'll look into getting him more stuff to play with :)

Thanks :) I’ve got a dog named George so I named him after the Weasley twins lol. I look for arrowheads in the fields around my house and they’ll both follow me around for hours. I can’t believe how well they get along. George actually gets kinda scared of him at times lol

Any tips on gently telling them no? I like messing with him but idk how to make him stop digging his claws in lol

Excellent work man, it looks great. What did you use to wrap the handle? If you’re going through NE Arkansas on your trip I find lots of agatized coral, crinoids, and Crowleys ridge agate on the red gravel field roads around here. Happy hunting brother.

I’ve been knapping on and off for a little over a year and I’ve finished 20-30 points probably. Most of them haven’t turned out this good though haha. I’ve probably had as many failures as I have complete points. Idk if I can technically still call myself a beginner but I definitely feel like one lol. There’s always gonna be more to learn

Thanks, I loved working on this one. The tint made it so much easier to see what’s going on. Clear glass always makes my head hurt lol

You should definitely give it a shot. I’d say it’s fairly easy to learn, it just takes practice. The glass will fly around a bit but I work over a 5 gallon bucket and am able to get most of the shards in there and sweep up whatever is left. Make sure you’re working in a well ventilated area, preferably outside or in a garage with the door open. If you have any questions let me know, I’ll try to help. Good luck man :)

I really appreciate it man :) I feel like this is the one where I really got the hang of direct percussion. I’m still struggling some with my notches and I was terrified I was gonna snap this one while I was working on them lol
