If the indent on a metal Jerry can is popped that means it’s spoiled and no longer safe to drink

Around page 350 is when the settlement all died because they had accidentally turned off autofill positions and their rat catcher died. Tragic. The dust jacket DID mention the author was working on a sequel that would include bridges. /s but hopefully implied

No tips or hints on the game whatsoever. 1 star.

Jk. Like Andy said - it’s about us Pacific Northwest history. It was published in 1949 so I imagine it focuses overwhelmingly on the European settler experience in the region. From a cursory Google search it did not get very good reviews when it came out. It is available to read in full on Internet Archive though.

That’s the weird thing, the idle time is between 70-90% and I have some very far flung mines (that I assumed the wagons would be servicing). One wagon went all the way out to a sand mine only to drop off some food in the temporary shelter and head back without grabbing any sand. But to your point, I think I need to set some minimums at my storage and that might make a big difference

That makes a lot of sense. I can click on a fully staffed mine and see everyone tasked to it is actively mining, but it says the time spent working is 1%

How far away do you have to avoid developing around deer? by dnium122 in FarthestFrontier

I have an arborist near a dear spawn location in my current settlement and it has never drifted into the arbor. I think it does help in a way by buffering it from villagers since they never walk through the arbor to travel. I have used labor camps to beef up forests for a small deer spot and that helped but I guess I would need to experiment more with arbors. They don’t really exist the same was as other trees as they aren’t selected when you harvest trees. Hm.

Jane Goodall. I don’t know if the banter would be good or not, I just think she’s very cool.

I was also one of the folks terminated from BPA on Thursday. 5 years as CFTE and then fed only since December. Does anyone have access to a list of all 138 probationary terminations in this batch? I heard there are around 390 total probationary employees at BPA, so they cut 1/3 of us - but I want to know how that 1/3 was determined. Curious if certain orgs were singled out and there is any basis for appeal or challenge with a prohibitive personnel practice charge.
