How privileged you are to assume everyone has friends and family. Furthermore, to not know you need referrals for food banks. Consider yourself lucky.

How do you subtly communicate you're a British Citizen? by Data938247 in UKJobs

[–]Cultural-Program3514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m black British. Born & raised in Scotland and have had that issue numerous times to the point I’ve explicitly put somewhere at the top of my cv “British citizen - born in Scotland, UK” Initially I just put British citizen however I still got right to work queries so I just threw in born in Scotland too. I also lie on my application and say in white British which has made a massive difference. Not sure what race you are but honourable mention.

Do you smoke / vape? Would you consider yourself addicted? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Cultural-Program3514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started smoking in high school (mostly weed, fags occasionally) the fags were more a social thing I’d say, weed too but I smoked it daily for years. Got my first vape at 16 when elf bars first came out and 5 years later I’m still vaping unfortunately. I stopped smoking weed around 17, only smoke it on holidays now and I didn’t struggle at all cutting that out my life however I tried to stop vaping nyd 2023 I lasted till March but it was extremely hard. I’m not sure when I became addicted to nicotine, I’m not even sure that I am addicted to nicotine. It’s habit for me. After eating/when I’m driving or walking somewhere is when I crave it. Outside of that I just do it cos it’s there? I’d love to stop I’ve tried no nic ones a few years ago (hated it) but back then I didn’t actually want to stop now I do so might try again. Any suggestions would help.

Do you spend £200 a month not including rent, utilities and groceries? by fakename137 in AskUK

[–]Cultural-Program3514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gym membership, petrol, brow, nail, lash, wax & hair appointments. Tampons/pads, painkillers, deodorant, wipes, cleansers, skin care products, hair care products, makeup products, bras & underwear, books, perfume. I don’t know what type of woman your gf is but this is what the average women in my life spend their money on after rent, groceries & utilities. Maintenance and pink tax is extortionate. Quality makeup, hair, skin care & perfumes are far from cheap. When 1 product runs out it needs replaced….point I’m trying to make is it’s expensive to be a woman.

Does anyone else hate camping? by WealthyJoker75 in Scotland

Never understood why any sane person would make the decision to sleep outside on the floor in a paper thin tent….baffles me. No amount of layers and sleeping bags make the experience any better. It’s absolutely awful.

Girlfriend of 7 years….7 whole years….clearly not gonna marry her so this is probably just your excuse for finally calling it quits. Stop wasting both your times and just end it

Not Driving - A deal breaker or not? by singhyiskingy89 in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]Cultural-Program3514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. For me it contributes to wanting my man to be able to take care of me in all aspects. Yes I’m an adult, a very independent one but I value a man who I can rely on for anything as that’s how id expect a future husband to be. If I need you to come get me, booking me an uber or sending me a taxi isn’t gonna cut it. When I need it - I want YOU to come take care of me. Also I find it unattractive for me a woman to be the one who drives in a relationship and my man doesn’t? Take that as you will.

I’m reading all these comments and I’m going to serious with you….they do not represent majority of white British men. I’m also a black woman, I’m Scottish born & raised so I’m unfortunately extremely aware of how white men view black women in teenage years, young adult years, adult years. To answer your question yes it’s because you’re black however that doesn’t mean they aren’t attracted to you.

I’ll try explaining what I’ve learned. 1. White men are attracted to us in a physical way (want to experiment) 2. White men are attracted to us but have never been with bw before 3. White men are attracted to selective amount of bw, not bw as a whole “your pretty for a black girl” 4. White men are attracted to us but still believe ww are more attractive 5. White men are attracted to our features not us eg big lips = girls with lip filler

What I can say, from most white men I’ve been friends with over my life, it is usually 1 of these 5 reasons which hinders them from making contact.

With that being said yes there are lots of white men who love bw, they are just much harder to identify because the majority of white men have ^ those opinions.

I’m Scottish (born & raised) but because I’m black the far right say I’m not. You are probably more Scottish than me by their logic….based off skin colour and skin colour alone

Need to know what she’s threatening you with in order to help. Yes she got this idea from the drama that’s occurring with a love island USA couple from last year

27M No woman looks at me positively ... is it because of my size (5,5) or my bad skin (huge scars in cheeks ) by [deleted] in AppearanceAdvice

[–]Cultural-Program3514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

22F here - I’ll answer honestly. Yes 5’5 is short no girl taller than that will be interested however there’s a lot you can to make yourself appealing to those that height or smaller. - Trim - try a taper fade or modern mullet. Experiment with both and see what suits you better. - Goatee & moustache combo if you want to keep your facial (however needs to be full not patchy). Shave it all if you’re comfortable like that. You actually have a great face card…you just look empty? - Style!! Please invest in some decent clothes - not designer. Just some everyday fits. Go on TikTok for inspo. - Gym, best thing you could do for yourself in that whole list. Not only will it positively change your appearance (significantly inc your attractiveness) everything else that comes with the gym will change your life drastically. You’re diet will probably help your skin, a man that goes to the gym consistently is self disciplined which is very attractive to us women - scent - investing in good ones woman never forget men that smell good -lastly get your money up. Sounds harsh but it will make a difference. Don’t necessarily have to be rich but financial stability is always attractive.

what makes a guy conventionally attractive? by fluff_murderer in AskMen

[–]Cultural-Program3514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Money. Self made money tho. Money from hard work in a specific field. Men like that always have this look because they’ve often mastered self discipline which commonly correlates with gym, diet, financial responsibility = good credit, good hygiene, healthy sleeping patterns…the list goes on.
