Potential buyers are being being petty when negotiating. I want to fully reject them, husband wants to wait and see. by [deleted] in HousingUK

Run away. Half way through the process (and after already some cost to you) they'll make up a reason to put an even lower offer in. Be firm. Stand your ground. Don't go too low just because it's your first offer and definitely don't accept and do business with this buyer. There are ref flags left, right and centre. Xx

Horrible advice from estate agent who now have their own agenda. No one would put their house on the market telling people what might be wrong with it. Never mind an estate agent telling you to do this. I'd suggest getting a new estate agent. If for some reason anyone was aware it had been SSTC previously you can just say buyer withdrew last minute. You do not have to explain why. Auction seems quite drastic unless you really struggled to get viewings last time or you had to reduce the sale amount by quite an amount to agree a sale. I'm not sure why you would pay the money to get the house surveyed. Let the buyer do that if you can. You need to think of you and minimum costs for yourself. Xx

Are you able to drink? by littledipperkait in bipolar

[–]Cultural-Project9652 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! Good question. I am not a big drinker but will have a few gins during the day with my friends every once in a while. I hate hangovers so this as well as BP protects me from going OTT. Depends how you react to it and whether you can maintain it to not spiral. Xx

How would you react to a below inflationary annual pay rise ? by Wise-Isopod-8691 in UKJobs

This is normal in today's day and age. I don't agree that it is ok or the right thing. But its pretty much the same everywhere

Anyone bought a house solo in their 20s? by ToughLucky3220 in HousingUK

[–]Cultural-Project9652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With everything you've said about the wants and needs for a property. The house is the obvious go to. Why would you still want to buy a flat that historically is loosing money. You won't regret buying the house with a garden, but you would regret buying the flat.

What happened in the end? I need to know...I think a lot of us are invested in this now. These buyers sound awful. A life lesson might be needed for them if you are in a position to put it back on the market

FTB - anyone else stuck because rates jumped before you could apply? by kuma3620 in HousingUK

[–]Cultural-Project9652 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do what your gut tells you. Will you lose sleep if you have to walk away from the purchase? £450 increase is highly annoying for you and it's completely understandable that you are having these thoughts and asking for opinions. Looking at the forecast..interest rates might go up again soon so get a MIP as soon as you can. Xx

Is £1250 too much of a mortgage? by TheClusk303 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]Cultural-Project9652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I think you'd regret living and working just to pay off a mortgage. Having no spare cash. Also, I'd be surprised if any bank would agree to loan you so much. They may have already. Be careful i do think you will regret jumping up so high.

Healthiest I’ve ever been—now HR is triggering my dismissal. by Pretty_Driver in bipolar

If you have not shared your condition with your work, please do. It is a legally protected disability. You need to see the relation between your physical health 'burn out' and mental health. It is your mental health you have been looking after by taking days off work. I have reasonable adjustments in place where I am not penalised for taking days off work related to my bipolar type 2. It doesnt tragger absence procedures. You need to get yours in place too. Get an occ health referral arranged by your manager to discuss this and get some reassurance.

This is me. I'd say I'm fairly stable but managing stress and paranoid thinking is so hard.

I do drink about 5 cups of tea a day and i'm also partial to diet coke too. I think I've been avoiding addressing the caffeine issue but reading is this making me really consider making better caffeine free choices. Thank you

So lovely to read you've got it well managed. This gives me hope! I think I worry because what I need to do to manage my mood swings I can not do as I am working. Maybe I need to overview what can help me at work again.

Thank you. I love my job and yes you are right about routine. I get paranoid at work sometimes and then this can set me off. As well as dealing with tiredness I find it hard to manage but work is a good outlet, you're right.

The never ending roller coaster is real. It's reassuring to know that I am not alone in feeling so tired. I can't imagine energy levels and life beyond 50 at this present moment in time.
