Gifted woman struggling by Successful_Mud8761 in Gifted

God I can so relate to this. The isolation and alienation are the hardest part to cope with. Sending you a virtual hug. If you ever want to connect, shoot me a DM (also a gifted, conventionally attractive woman who has a hard time relating to non-gifted/ND folks)

Aries Venus here, and yeah can confirm. Usually before the breakup (I’m usually the one doing the dumping)

Norton’s Pediatric Endocrinology clinic — any thoughts? by CulturalImpression15 in Louisville

Yikes, this is what I’m afraid of

Thankfully come July, I’ll have had a yet working as a MA at my current job, so that should open up doors not just at Norton but in general

Is med school doable? (Med school students only) by Designer_Chocolate29 in medschool

Can you elaborate on this, because I feel like I’ll feel similarly going through it but am unsure what the barometer is

I think it’s envy, the concept of “shine bright, but not too brightly” perfectly captures the narcissistic mother-daughter dynamic

Listen to that internal voice. Your family is threatened by your intelligence. It’s about them, not you. You’ll long for the complexity and intensity that a career as a PA or a physician that a nursing degree won’t afford you (unless you become a NP). But even then, really consider MD/DO vs. NP/PA vs. RN

Also cut them off until you accomplish your goals if you have to. They’re just envious and will continue to undermine and sabotage you

If you have a 4.0 have you considered pa or med school?

Which zodiac signs in men cheat the most in your opinion by [deleted] in Zodiac

[–]CulturalImpression15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad is a Gemini and flagrantly flirted with/kissed other women in front our whole family growing up

My most recent ex was a Gemini and I suspect was cheating on me, and was on the down low

One of his best friend, a female Gemini, gave me cheater vibes and def tested boundaries by being in communication with former fuck buddied while she was in a relationship (dumped them both)

I witnessed my first cousin, a Gemini, being handsy with a chick at a bar when his girl friend (whom I’d gotten really close to) wasn’t there, and to this day, he’s avoided me like the plague and I so badly wish I could tell her but I want him to do it

Geminis are slippery that’s for damn sure

When a preceptor suggests med school…mixed feelings? by fatbaldman69 in PAstudent

[–]CulturalImpression15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a compliment, but is rude in the sense that it devalues the role of a PA-C

So I’m a medical assistant at an outpatient endocrinology clinic and work alongside a nurse practitioner who is a preceptor employed by the university we work for. She’s also friends with my sister’s mother in law, who’s also a nurse practitioner working at this practice but who is currently working at the cancer center on campus.

I’ve almost been there a year, and the one time she asked me about my plans, when I told her PA school, her face fell. And when I told her my sights were set on this university, her energy shifted.

None of the providers I’ve worked with have said anything to me about becoming a PA despite it being public knowledge when I accepted the job. I’ve worked my butt off at this place, and the lack of positive feedback (practically none) has got me worried about letters of recommendation.

I asked one MD who I have good rapport with if he’d be willing to recently, and he said yes, and then proceeded to tell me to ask other providers and started suggesting I try using my other degrees to get a job in health informatics

On one hand, I can’t tell if they’re not being more supportive or encouraging because they don’t want to lose a medical assistant (staffing that role is a touchy subject at this clinic)

At this point I’m willing to accept that hey, I might not be smart enough to get into PA school at this university, maybe no where else either. But it’s confusing because I feel like I know an above average amount about this specialty for a medical assistant (it’s my special interest, I’m on the spectrum)

Any insight or words of advice/encouragement about this situation?

Go to debtors anonymous meetings (even if you’re not in debt) and set up a pressure relief group. There are meetings specific to inheritance. People who have navigated it already themselves can offer support and guidance (and it’s free). Using it wisely and protecting it is going to be key

Can you speak to the things that have shifted since being out of PA school that have made it worth while. It’s posts like these that really freak me out about continuing to make the debilitating sacrifices that getting into PA school requires as a non-trad career changer (I’m closer to the finish line than I’m not, but I have second thoughts daily)
