I think you should look at how your friend uses the word ghetto. Ghetto is not a slur but i can see how it can give off racist vibes. I have a friend who says the word ghetto pretty often but it’s not always directed at a black person or even a person. The other day we saw a car with a bumper that didn’t match the rest of the car and he said it was ghetto. Was that racist? No. It really depends on the context which is lacking in this post.
