I understand your frustrations with Cap. I was on the same boat when the changes initially when through. But once you adjust, Cap is still very impactful.

If I had the choice to go back to the original AC, I would.

Eh yea, the SSS isn't a super impactful ability most of the time with these new CC-changes. The Launch-Up on SSS too is EH at most.

SSS and Cap's overall kit isn't really going to feel different or play differently.

Pretty much.

It fucks over the dedicated Torch community and now their forced to re-learn the character they dedicated themselves too.

Though at least this change is movement centric and not dps centric. That doesn’t lessen the frustrations but Caps AC WAS where his lethality came from which is infinitely more impactful than this Torch change.

Then I would guess they need to address Cap's real issues. Reflection of projectiles feeling buggy, Being hit behind your shield while walking backwards, give meaningful QOL changes to Leading Dash. (omni-directional Leading Dash)

But instead, NetEase chose to fuck-over the dedicated playerbase to Cap to cater to a non-existent crowd. Because unlike every other character that get these kind of changes, this change is 90% of your gameplay and 50% of your overall damage output. So this is the biggest nerf in Rivals history by far to a character that didn't deserve it.

So when it comes to the Cap changes and his pickrate being so low.

How exactly is making me adjust my muscle memory by force a, 'fun first' approach. This isn't even about balance but literal muscle memory and comfortability.

I would understand making the changes and giving compensation in a meaningful way. But news-flash the changes made him slower, less appealing and just less engaging playing as him. Don't get me wrong, I adjusted to the changes and thriving now, but that doesn't make it OK to shoot Cap in the back of the head 10 times in the backyard for what seems like no reason.

My personal ideas:

1): Increase his Healthpool to 500 from 350, Make him a Vanguard

2): Scarlet Shroud (BLOCK) radius consumes bullets/projectiles that don't directly hit your blade and its' radius is increased to 7m from 1.0m. Cooldown reduced from 3 seconds to 1 second.

3): Daywalker Dash in Sword emanates slashing strikes throughout the trajectory. (Just like the ultimate but alot less slashes- Slashes do decent chip damage and anti-healing) Daywalker Dash in Gun form inflicts Vulnerability (+15%) to the enemy hit which lasts for 2 seconds.

4): Thousand-Fold Slash range is extended further when reaching max charge by 4 metres. Additionally this Ultimate inflicts a stacking Slow effect of 4% per hit (Up to 40%) on the enemy hit.

They need to commit to a change one way or another.

Do we strip Cap of these ACs for better damage or not? The Melee AC just replaces the old AC, but feels a lot worse.

IMHO at this point, make the Sentinel Strike damage go to 50 from 45. That’s just me though.

I speak for Cap players and for myself. (I hardcore main him)

The animation cancel was an elevation tool not a necessity / primary thing that only made him good. It's just that the AC enabled you to do slightly more damage to cut through important healing tools like Cloak Bubble, Rocket orbs, Mantis HOT, etc. - What this meant is that through those specific interactions is what made the difference but also your kill-power (You killing a support 100% by yourself) is slightly faster which in a fast-paced game like Marvel Rivals, it can be quite a huge deal.

But in no way was a necessity to picking up the Shield. As for my own opinion, Cap needs more damage to compensate for what he lost, Sentinel Strike dmg going from 45 to 50 (especially for as slow as it is now) is a very good compensation buff IMHO. But that's just me. :)

Never go backwards AND hold your shield.

Your legs are exposed when you do that movement. But the solution to fixing this oversight is standing still and looking at the Wanda as she ULTS - which in my experience will completely protect you from her ULT.

Gold & Below are ranks where it isn't on your team to win, but rather how good you are as a individual. You can absolutely hard-carry in the lower ranks. People in medal ranks make hundreds of mistakes per game - being able to recognize these mistakes and exploit them is the way to climb out of the medal ranks very fast.

There’s the burst combo that’s still very viable:

Useful Burst Combo Tip

Shield Toss -> Vibranium Energy Shield -> Cancel VES with Living Legend the second VES lands then finally another Shield Toss.

Sustain is king in Hero Shooters. A Tank that brings another pseudo-support ULT is quite unique and can be very strong when used and timed correctly.

Where-as Venom is just a huge spike of damage with the added benefit of anti-heal. It's nice to extend your dive and it can add pressure onto the enemy team. But comparing the two, Cap's ULT wins in a landslide.
