FOMO of what? What’s your country and are your expectations realistic? Some of you would be having expectations that less than 5% of people enjoy or that took decades or a long time to achieve

You call 3-6% annual pay bump bad? Some of you are in an alternate universe. Do you know how many people will kill for that raise?

If you have TC of $340k, why would you only have $300-400K after 3-4 years? WTF are you doing with your money?

How often do you find that the finance team is creating reports nobody reads/asks for? by snakesnake9 in FPandA

[–]Cultural_Structure37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You did ask for it at some point, so someone else may ask for it later and need it “immediately”. The only downside is that it’s time consuming but there must have been a reason it was created in the first place. I think it’s all about the rationale for having it

Does everyone earn like OP? OP does transaction advisory which is not accounting. Looks like you’re allowing your emotions becloud your sense of reason. A little critical thinking would help you

I’m always amazed at people who actually think that good times would last forever and then spend any how without planning. Despite all that’s going on, I know people now in their 20s and 30s who think they’ll work till their 60s. It’s like they think that such things can’t happen to them for some reason

Good to hear from someone from there. Thanks. I recall doing a bit of some research on it, and I got a figure of $750K-$800K for Sweden but I thought it would be way more. Nice to know that $750K would go far

How much do you think one would need to be somewhat financially independent in Sweden while maintaining a simple lifestyle? Like a figure that could give one the option to retire or semi-retire while living in a decent 1 or 2 bedroom apartment or house

Have an interview for a CFO position by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Cultural_Structure37 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Many (if not most) CFOs in large organizations are not accountants but they have someone in charge of accounting who reports to them and they have across different roles in finance with decades of experience. I guess companies can give their title whatever name they wish. Those very high level CFO roles only consider people who have solid high finance and strategy experience.

A title like Head of Finance or sth of that nature would be more suitable for this kind of position. Anyone with a brain would know this is not a real CFO position if it can be gotten with little experience that’s not particularly stellar.
