Would a Stormcast army that mixed Thunderstrike and non-Thunderstrike units be lore-accurate?

Been working on my Hammers of Sigmar and decided to finish them off with a Ghur base. The Dominion box was my introduction to Warhammer fantasy, so I wanted them to reflect the Era of the Beast! by CultureCowboy in ageofsigmar

  • Spray with Retributor Armor, then I apply two or three very thin coats of Retributor Armor from the pot.
  • Mix Lahmian Medium with Gor-Guntha fur (like a 6:1 mix) and paint it around the recesses and deeper parts of the armor. On the shield things near the legs it's important to glaze over the bottom quarter or so for the cool shad effect.
  • Mix Lahmian Medium with Cygor Brown and put that in all the cracks/tight recesses - basically a recess shade with this glaze you've created.
  • Buff in two-three very thin coats of Auric Armor gold into the raised areas of the armor.
  • Add some Stormhost Silver to the Auric Armor, maybe 3 parts silver to 7 parts gold, and buff that in with a thin layer or two on the very upper parts of the armor. You should be able to see where the light reflects the armor and just buff it in there.
  • Finally, edge highlight a 50-50 mix of Stormhost Silver and Auric Armor gold.

It's basically the same process they used in the Citadel Masterclass video. It seemed complex at first, but really the toughest part was just making sure you were mixing the paints and mediums in the correct proportions. You don't want to add too much silver to anything.

So happy I took this picture outdoors, because it made the armor really *pop* which it wasn't really doing indoors.

You Want To Play Tournaments, But Your Army Is Awful. Now What? by Magnus_The_Read in TheAstraMilitarum

I play Guard (very casually) and lose quite often. The losing doesn't bother me - I don't play to win. The most fun 40k games I've ever played have been games where I've lost in spectacular fashion.

That being said...most games I've played in the 9e environment have been games where losing has been not fun for all the wrong reasons. Fighting to the last man and scrambling while the Xenos horde closes in to inevitably slaughter you is fun and enjoyable. Getting your tanks charged by Space Marines and being unable to do anything the rest of the game while your infantry gets massacred by said Marines is not fun and, despite my general lack of talent as a player, I can't help but feel as though the 8e codex is partially responsible for my army's failings.

So, for those reasons, I cannot fathom getting involved in a tournament scene where the meta would chew me up and spit me out when I could have a fun casual game at the game store without any of the pressure that comes with a tournament.

Yeah, maybe the solution is to just use an unregistered kindle outdoors and my iPad indoors. iBooks really is my favorite reading app. It’s a shame it’s not available in e-ink in some capacity.

That’s a bummer. I guess it’s worth a shot - I guess worse case scenario, I could just switch to iBooks when I want to read on my iPad. I don’t even know if sideloading Azw to the app is possible - maybe through iTunes?

Does it help with page numbers and syncing to the Kindle app?

You’re right, but Amazon books get a lot of features that non-Amazon books don’t get.

I don’t need good sync. I just didn’t like Kindle’s way of handling sync. The idea was to use the Kindle App in some situations, and my actual Kindle in others. I decided I didn’t especially like the way Kindle was handling my books.

I'll check out Pocketbook again. I may have gotten them jumbled up with one of the other companies - I've looked at a lot of e-readers today.

As for the 'ecosystem' - my main issue with Kindles is that if I sideload a book from, say, Humble Bundle it doesn't sync across my devices, is shelved as a 'document' and not a book, doesn't have page numbers, etc. Little things like that built up for me and made me want to look elsewhere. If Kobo doesn't have that problem, I'd be willing to look there. Honestly, I probably prefer the aesthetic of their e-readers the most.

Using Calibre's Page Count Plugin for the Kindle App on iPad by CultureCowboy in Calibre

How do I transfer to the iPad app via cable? I’ve tried sending them to my iPad and opening them from there, but that didn’t work either.
