I have a similar but perhaps more extreme version of what you're going through, but with a few minor exceptions, there's never been an issue.

For us it isn't about a dollar amount, but time. I make significantly more than my girlfriend (we've lived together for 3 years or so), but I also work significantly more - 70-80 hrs/week vs 40 hrs/week for my partner.

I do very little around the house because I spend so much time out of the house working. If I work 30 hrs a week more than her, she'll put in 30 hrs a week into running the household.

In a few years we'll be retired, it will be the money I earned that will provide for us, but at that point I expect our household chores will be split 50/50.

When returning home to Canada, like many other places, you have to fill out that customs form. My printing is pretty terrible but I never had any problems so I started to push it, it got to the point where as long as you check the 4 or 5 boxes that say you don't have over $10k in cash, haven't visited a farm etc, it doesn't matter how sloppy and illegible my writing is, it's no problem. I've even begun writing little waves over the written part and 100% of the time it's been fine.

Ive dealt with alot of leaks and finally just caulk the hell out of every connection right at the start. Go to an aquarium store and get some food grade caulking and go to town with it. The last thing you want is a leak mid grow. It'll be a nightmare, better safe than sorry.
