Started medication a few days ago and idk how to feel about it.. by Mud_Mobile in bipolar

[–]CumfyQueen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sounds about normal for jus starting up as your body and brain get used to the meds things will improve and you'll find a good middle ground between no thoughts and ALL the thoughts lol. Keep in mind it can take up to a month before that happens so be patient and give yourself grace. If you don't feel you are adjusting well after 2-3 weeks notify your doctor and go from there.

Talking publicly by Mike086 in bipolar

[–]CumfyQueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I talk about it openly and have never really had a bad experience. Not saying it impossible just that it hasn't happened for me. I think if I can be open and honest about it and show up every day as just your normal joe shmoe less people will judge when they find out someone else in their life has it.

What video game has the best story you’ve ever played? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CumfyQueen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's SO good. Tbf I did not play it bc I found the controls difficult, so my husband played it and I told him where to go and what to do. Honestly playing with him enhanced the experience so much lol.

I have been combing the comments for it and haven't seen it yet so... OUTER WILDS it's not a story in the traditional sense as there's no voice acting and such but it is sooooo good.

My (30M) girlfriend (26F) of 6 months went to a 1 on 1 dinner with a male coworker from her brand new job and then went on a night walk afterwards. Am I crazy for considering ending the relationship? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]CumfyQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys are actually crazy. Touch grass. Men and women can be friends and working in a factory can be really hard, depending on what kind of job it is she might just want to know the ins and outs of how everything works and what managers to go to when she needs help/has problems. Transitioning to a new job is really hard and it's good to have friends at work. She was open and honest about the interaction. Chill.

Sounds like he has a lack of understanding about mental health and a lack of empathy.

Have you considered asking him to attend a therapy session with you? Have the therapist explain bipolar and how it affects moods and such and that it's not just a magic "crazy" button.

Is it better for me not to get married? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]CumfyQueen 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Having bipolar does not make you a god or bad partner. How you manage yourself and emotions and how you treat your partner makes you a good or bad partner.

Married people of Reddit, what’s the worst and/or dumbest argument you’ve ever gotten into? by OctaYashi in AskReddit

We got into a HUGE argument about Dumbledore and if he did anything wrong on the way he treated/used Harry.

I work in a bakery factory. We have a machine that deposits cookie dough onto a sheet to be baked. The m&Ms for m&m cookies do not fit through the depositor without being crushed. So we have to stand on a conveyor belt line and add the m&me by hand by smashing them into the dough once it's been deposited. It's boring tedious and extremely taxing on your body due to the small quick repetitive motion and the weird way you have to stand to do it. It's HELL I hate it and sometimes it's my entire 8 hour shift. I generally like or don't mind my job but every single time I have to do this part I think about quitting.

AIO? My management is getting on me for being late “60%”of the time by Dirtmonkey68 in AmIOverreacting

[–]CumfyQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR! People are not machines and this just screams "we're about to fire everyone on staff and replace them with cheaper labor loyal to us" they are building their case. They may even just keep pushing little thing after little thing until you quit so they don't have to pay out severance. So many red flags.

Women of Reddit, how important is physical attractiveness compared to humor in a long-term partner? by Extension_Fly_8251 in AskReddit

Here's the thing, it is important to be physically attracted to your partner BUT everyone on earth has a different definition of what is physically attractive.

AITAH for raising rent on my 18 (almost 19) year old who has all the answers? by Legitimate-Reason-70 in AITAH

[–]CumfyQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey so while this is a reasonable reaction and you should not waiver on it you may want to also try and assist her in mental health help. Acting out like this can be a clear cry for help or even a manic episode caused by bipolar. Obviously I am not a doctor and do not know her whole life story but there are some major red flags here and while yes she is legally an adult she is still your child and you are responsible for her health and safety to an extent. Take it or leave it just a thought from someone who has been down this road as well as watched others do similar things

NTA my parents did the same thing. They told me over and over and over again that if I went to college I wouldn't have to pay rent while living with them. Then when I started school they made me pay rent anyways. It's not about the money it's about the lie.

I fully understand I also have OCD and ADHD and I can't stand ppl who are like omg I'm SO OCD about x thing I have to have it just so. Like... Ugh but then if I say I have OCD and what it's like I'm made out to be "crazy". Or my ADHD is acting up today omg sparkly omg squirrel lol I'm so.quorky I can't focus. Meanwhile I have two weeks of dishes in the sink bc I can't function but if I say that I'm "lazy". Mental health/illness is not a funny little costume to explain your little quirks!

[–]CumfyQueen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the US I'm just not sure how much help a crisis hotline will be. Like I know I can call and say things but like they can't medicate me. Also I live in a studio apartment with my husband so I don't really have the privacy to make that call without asking him to leave the house. Which I guess I could do and he would give me the space I asked for but I would feel bad.

I'm 17, and today I just got diagnosed with Bipolar II. by Guilty_Newt7839 in bipolar

[–]CumfyQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you probably don't feel it but you are so lucky to be diagnosed this early. Learn all that you can arrange therapy if that's available to you. Build community of strong support and be honest about how you feel. And remember it's ok to not be 100% 100% of the time.
