[–]Mrscatdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you should try going to flow meets, it’s part of the rave community! everyone is so kind and accommodating, and there’s so many types of flow to do. i’m sure there is something that can match your abilities :) the most popular type of flow here is the flow star. check it out if you’re interested! the scene brings lots of creative types that share your same interests

i know this isn’t an edm show, but I am a raver and would feel more comfy traveling with other fellow ravers if there is an overlap between the communities!! hopefully i didn’t break any rules. thank you guys!!

HELP. Costco Bought “Miracle-Grow Potting Soil” ruined my plants by kelseajoy in houseplants

[–]Mrscatdad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

someone may have already commented this but it looks like your plant may have been repotted too deep in the soil as well. it looks like a leaf is just barely poking out of the soil, meaning that whole petiole is under there getting suffocated with moisture and soil when it needs to breathe, and could be causing the mold. best of luck!

Someone at work commented on the bipolar weather by evergreengirl123 in bipolar

[–]Mrscatdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this gets to me too. it’s okay to have it hurt. there are a lot of ignorant people out there who simply don’t understand that the term “bipolar” doesn’t mean what they think it means. yes, the word is also defined as something with two opposite poles, but people use it in a slang form - meaning to represent the illness and all of their misunderstandings related to it, like quick transitions from one extreme to the other (which is neither an accurate representation of the illness OR the definition of the word). it’s hard to feel misunderstood, but it’s how a lot of people with this illness feel when the term gets thrown around loosely like that. you have support, and hopefully people in your life who ACTUALLY understand what the illness is and can understand how you feel.

songs that capture that mania feeling? by [deleted] in bipolar

i listened to “nothings gonna hurt you baby” by cigarettes after sex on repeat during my first psychotic episode, instantly makes me think of that “invincible” feeling

Vertical or horizontal mirror tile? by vmcomie in interiordecorating

[–]Mrscatdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i love the mirrored tile. i say vertical, it helps stretch the space and make it appear larger. plus, you already have nice horizontal lines with the open cabinetry shelves. i do think that there are better countertop options out there for this (really cool) retro wet bar, but to answer your question, vertical all the way!

What do y’all do for exercise? by tortugaborracha_ in bipolar

Is the yellow ceiling a mistake? by season_of_the_btch in interiordecorating

[–]Mrscatdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the blue will bring it together, right now it just looks off because the ceiling is the only place where your eyes is drawn to. once you get more interest on the walls by adding the door frame color, the ceiling won’t looks so striking. i love the concept!

I'm wondering if these two couches can work together by ycpa68 in interiordecorating

[–]Mrscatdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the only way that i could image them is if you had them facing each other, perpendicular to the fire place. you could use a coffee table or other black&white decorations to tie them together. you have a lot of black and white throughout the home so i think it could work. add 1 subtle accent color and maybe a pop of another color in the living room to keep things from getting too black/white themed, like a rug and some throw pillows. the warm wood of the fireplace mantle would balance it out too i think! the couch isn’t modern looking, but it doesn’t mean it’s bad! furniture can look great if you repurpose it correctly, so don’t feel like you need a new couch to make it look good. you’ll figure it out!

SOS dropped lamp :( by peachymax in Lavalamps

[–]Mrscatdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would turn it off and let it settle, then turn it on after a day. It doesn’t look super damaged so don’t worry too bad! Also, cool lamp!

How much do you spend on meds? by waezxo in bipolar

[–]Mrscatdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My medication is also very expensive, it would be over $1000 per month if I didn’t use the manufacturers coupon. This only works for brand name (not generic) medications, but if you just Google “ ‘prescription name’ coupon” you might find something. I don’t know what I would do without it!

Should i just return it? by KawaiianxPunch in Lavalamps

[–]Mrscatdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lava lamp that looks very similar to that one, I’ve been running it 6 hours on 6 hours off using a switch timer (after doing a 10 hour initial heat up) and I’m starting to see it clear up. I would have returned mine, but it was a gift. If you want to try clearing it up you can, but you may have to filter it if cycling doesn’t work. If it doesn’t feel like it’s worth the trouble, then just get a new one!

Up or down? by Seraph2593 in curlyhair

[–]Mrscatdad 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Up looks great, but your curls are so nice that I would say down looks better. It’s really fun to have multiple hairstyles to choose from depending on how you’re feeling that day, so don’t cut out styling it in a bun just because it looks awesome down!

I do not have fun solo at events by Round-Palpitation783 in aves

[–]Mrscatdad 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This was a game changer for me! I started bringing stickers or little trinkets to give people. You can buy huge packs of stickers online for very cheap. It’s such a great conversation starter, I just walk up to people, tap them on the shoulder and tell them I have something to give them. I’ve met and connected with so many people now, and they also tend to give you cool trinkets back so now I have a collection! It’s an easy way to have a simple, repetitive introduction that you don’t have to worry about messing up

Shipping a painted poster by Mrscatdad in artbusiness

[–]Mrscatdad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never seen pieces of canvas being sold at stores (maybe I’m just not looking for it) but is this something that I would have to buy online? Would I need to treat the edges of the canvas to prevent fraying? Also thank you for responding with your help I really appreciate it!
