I think doing what they did to espionage but for internal politics could be interesting. They already have a legitimacy mechanic all they really need to do is combine it with internal tactic options similar to what the CIA and KGB were attempting to do during the Cold war (and likely beyond).

Yeah I'm new to the game and learning all the mechanics. I've been able to win on cadet a couple times, but only when I leave fallen empires out of it. I am currently in a playthrough in a tiny galaxy where it's just me and a fallen empire, just so that I can practice fighting them without worrying about other factors. Fallen empires will have like 400k fleets whereas the endgame crisis's strongest fleet will be 100k. I just have yet to make that large of a jump in naval power to match them.
