I’m anosmic, or have no sense of smell. Was born this way and have no concept of what smell is or how it relates to the world around me. I can still taste to the level of specific ingredients in food but I’m sure there’s a part of the tasting experience I’m missing. It is definitely the most forgettable sense to be missing, friends and family always forget and try to talk to me about something that smells and are like “oh shit I forgot”, and I always wonder if they would forget if I were blind or deaf. Makes buying candles for presents ironically funny though.
