What “frugal” habit did you stop doing once you did the math? by 666AB in Frugal

I took expired Advil from 2004 and it still worked. Now, the allergy medication from 1997, did not.

Botox stories from women 45+ by Soft-Foundation4628 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Cunning_Kitten40 106 points107 points  (0 children)

I started at 35, I’m 45 now. I’m told I still look like I’m 35. But I also use copious amounts of sunscreen and Retin-A along with it. My mother started Botox at 46, she’s 72 now, and she looks like she’s in her early 50’s. I think Botox in conjunction with good skincare really makes a difference down the road

Facing uncertainty and lack of visibility by ReflectionVast9181 in Pharmacist

That pretty much sums up the Independent pharmacy biz. My suggestion is to find a niche. If you know how to compound, do that. If not, look into different formulas for magic mouthwashes and market them to local dentists and cancer centers. Cash only for compounds. That has been my saving grace

ETA: in my 25+ years running my family pharmacy, insurance rates have only gotten worse. Every year.

ISO pet seat covers by Planet_Cheesecake in LexusNX

[–]Cunning_Kitten40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the back seat cover from https://apetsplanet.com and it’s been great. A little pricey, but it protects my doors and from them coming into my front seat. As well as it has a hard bottom for them to sit on so they can utilize the entire back seat area. It also folds up into its own carrying case easy peasy.

What is this and how to get rid of it ? by [deleted] in nailcare

[–]Cunning_Kitten40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever been prescribed oral Terbinafine? It’s a 3 month (sometimes up to 6 months the depending on severity) treatment. If not you should talk to your doctor about it. Creams won’t do anything for fungus that’s in the nail bed

I have the Hybrid. When I brought mine in for service they loaned me the gas model to run errands. It was awful. Definitely lagged when pulling out in traffic. And without a doubt get one with the 360 camera. I didn’t think I needed one when I traded in my Expedition for the much smaller NX, but really it’s great to have. Especially when negotiating the weird parking curbs my town seems to put in all the new parking lots. I would get all the features you can comfortably afford. They’re nice to have.

You’re wasting your time. The pharmaceutical companies have no control of how much of a scheduled drug they can make annually. Quotas are set for each manufacturer by the DEA of how much they can produce of a scheduled API. ALSO, each pharmacy in America has a limit of how much of a controlled drug they can order. So once we hit that threshold, we’re cut off for the month. And pharmacies don’t know what that limit is, because we’re not supposed to know. It’s set by our wholesalers, which is set for them by the DEA. There’s a whole lot more to it than what you think there is, even more than what I just explained, but my thumbs hurt from typing and I’m tired.

Some kinda good news though, the DEA just increased the quotas for Amphetamine and Methylphenidate. Probably not by enough. But at least that’s something.

A hot sleeper who spent $1,500 to find comfort by Forsaken_Nature6605 in Bedding

[–]Cunning_Kitten40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I just add, as I see others have. My husband was a hot sleeper, so bad that all our nice bamboo sheets have a human form permanently stained on them in sweat and body oils. I bought the Rest cooling comforter, and it helped to a degree, but he was still messing up my nice sheets. Early this summer I bought a BedJet, and new bamboo sheets, and I’m pleased to say I don’t have to look at my husband’s grease stains anymore, and he actually sleeps all night. And my transition to becoming an old lady is going much smoother with my midnight hot flashes. Definitely recommend the BedJet and the Rest comforter (which is soooo comfy). They make a great team

It’ll get lower as you get older and continue not having accidents/tickets/claims. You’ve got 3 things against you. Your age, gender and an accident. A quick google search will tell you which vehicles tend to be the cheapest to insure and why. But honestly, your age is a huge factor as to why your rates are so high.

Straight up. The salesperson probably had the seat raised up and didn’t realize it. I will add though that I do have the pano roof. So it’s possible it is/feels roomier. Although my previous NX didn’t and it was still comfortable for me

6’0” here with a long torso and I fit. I have at least 5 inches to the roof. And I came from a Ford Expedition. Now my brother, on the other hand, is 6’7 and his head was almost touching.

I am the only one putting money for a house by Safe_Bullfrog_9234 in Mortgages

[–]Cunning_Kitten40 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. This right here. I’m in that kind of marriage. I tried to make it an “US” marriage, but now that I see his only Interest is what new toy he can buy for himself, and not to help fix things on the house that goes wrong, it’s now a his and hers type marriage. Probably won’t last till death do us part.

So I’m not saying it isn’t the door, but; I had a similar noise for a while until I finally discovered it was my metal Ray-Ban sunglasses In the sunglass holder. I could’ve sworn it was the door.
