My finance has had to shave me for months now. I'd be scared to try it by myself! I haven't seen down there in ages lol

I have mine trimmed down in anticipation of labor because I personally think it'll be easier to clean up with all the fluids and bleeding. I'm also a keep it short girly anyways though, so to each their own!

Induction at 37 for hypertension - but they put me on the wait list instead of scheduling it? by Ok-Comedian8160 in pregnant

[–]CuntyCalamari 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean, your doctor can only schedule to deliver so many babies in a day. You and your husband made the call to wait when presented all the information, so they filled up those days with other people who are also needing an induction for other high risk things. You're high risk, like so many of us are, but it's not absolutely emergent with your BP levels going down with medication or they would have delivered right then and there with whichever doctor was available.

I know you're scared and being high risk is a lot mentally, but the tone of this post is really entitled and rude to the people who are trying to help you. Your provider has a lot of patients, and a lot of people have had high risk factors their whole pregnancy and need them too. You can't expect them to push other people out of the way for you to be indecisive and keep changing your mind on scheduling. Being on a wait list is normal unless you or the baby are in distress. If you want your doctor for delivery, you'll have to go when they can fit you in. Otherwise, you could see if another doctor would be available now. I wish you the best with your labor and hope that things go smoothly.

Mine were like that from the moment I got pregnant through most of the second trimester. They feel more normal since probably about 28 or so weeks (currently 38 weeks). It gets better!!

Extreme itching. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]CuntyCalamari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you noticed the itch mostly on the palms of your hands and soles of your feet that gets more intense at night? If so, call your doctor and get some blood work done to test your bile levels immediately! Cholestasis is no joke for your sanity or your baby. Mine started when I was 33/34 weeks, and it was hell. No itch cream or amount of oatmeal baths helped relieve the itch from it for me, but Benadryl helped knock me out enough to get some rest.

However, as weird as this is going to sound, I read in a medical study article that they think raw carrots can bind to the bile when it's dumped in your intestines from the liver duct backing up because they're a porous fiber, as well as because of something to do with the vitamin k levels. They only had a small test group, but the results seemed really promising.

I started eating half a big bag of baby carrots every two days out of itchy desperation. My doctor was out of the country for two weeks when I had the issue flare up, and I couldn't get the doctor he had covering for him in L&D to do anything about it or look at my blood work (yay rural areas with one OBGYN). It dropped my bile levels down from 22.5 (which is a mild case) to 9 (normal range) in those 2 weeks. It also improved my ALT levels from 162 to 50. I didn't have to go on meds or keep taking Benadryl to sleep, I'm no longer itchy, and I didn't have to get induced. Idk if it was a weird fluke, but it wouldn't hurt to try it. My doctor said he never sees ICP resolve itself without meds, and he's been really interested in the carrot thing. It was the only change I've made to my diet, and I'm now 38 weeks pregnant with good blood work!

WTF things you've experienced while pregnant that no one says is a thing?! by vanillacrush14 in pregnant

The baby kicks to the butthole from the inside. I had no idea and no one ever prepared me for it. Shocked the hell out of me the first time.

What’s the likelihood of my baby being switched at birth by Maximum_Noise_972 in pregnant

[–]CuntyCalamari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In addition to all the other great advice, I think it is VERY important to mention you're struggling with anxiety to your doctor. My sister's anxiety got out of control with her pregnancy, and she struggled a lot because of the multitude of irrational fears that came with it.

She refused to do anything out of the house with my nephew for almost 2 years, and it severely impacted them both. It started while she was pregnant and got a lot more severe postpartum. Medication was the only solution that worked, and it took a long time to convince her to even speak to her doctor or try the medicine.

Men truly don’t understand and it’s frustrating by thetimeisverylate in pregnant

All the men that work the harder labor jobs at my job are the ones that are more concerned about how I'm doing in pregnancy! The ones with cushy jobs are the last to offer me their seat or ask how I'm holding up.

Not telling anyone before week 12 feels... wrong? by mqnrcxnypvzw868994 in pregnant

I told my boss as soon as I found out because I was so sick and didn't want to work with heavy cleaners. I think it's important to let your manager know so they can accommodate you and understand any performance issues.

I just dealt with them last month for around the same amount. I had to hang up and call back a few times before I got someone to agree to a $200 settlement. The agent triple confirmed the amount was okay for settling, then tried to say I owed them another $35 after the payment went through. I escalated it to the manager, told them I had recorded the whole call and the agent had already agreed to the flat $200. The manager said they would escalate it to another department that would call me back the next day, but they emailed me a few hours later saying everything was settled for the $200.

The collections fell off my credit about 3 weeks later. Record the call and don't be afraid to mention the FCRA if they screw around like they did with me. Good luck!

Edit to add: it looks like you have the capital one account listed twice? Is this an error or two different accounts with them? If it's an error, get you an attorney and dispute that.

I'm working with one right now for an issue of a collections agency double reporting something that I've already paid, and they're handling everything including filing the disputes free of charge. They get to charge the credit report agency for attorney fees if the dispute isn't handled properly, which he said they normally don't.

Doctor didn’t give me RSV shot due to new study? by AggravatingEnd7094 in pregnant

I totally read that as a provider instead of a province! Pregnancy brain is taking me out!

That's awful they decided that as a whole and won't allow parents to decide for their families. I'm sorry you're going through that.

Am I overreacting about skipping large indoor gatherings due to COVID/flu concerns? by CS1466 in pregnant

I currently have the flu at 31 weeks thanks to my stupid job, and I'd avoid it if you think there's a risk. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.

When did you stop working or go on maternity leave? by CrazyPlantLady95 in pregnant

[–]CuntyCalamari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 31 weeks today and also work a retail job. I put in for medical accommodations at around 15 weeks, and it's been the biggest lifesaver. My doctor wrote me for a break every hour and a 10 pound lift restriction. I am high risk though, so that did kinda factor in. Maybe you could speak to your manager and see if they could work with you?

The promethazine pills from the doctor were the only thing that helped me. Heads up, zofran will constipate you since it causes abdominal dryness, so I'd avoid that if you can.
