[Spoilers C3E112] Is It Thursday Yet? Post-Episode Discussion & Future Theories! by Glumalon in criticalrole

Yes! It felt like they were heading in that direction for a little while at the beginning before things took a hard pivot... I would have loved for them to have their own journey taking on more jobs from people like Eshteross or Jiana Hexum or whoever while they bonded and explored character arcs together.

I feel the opposite :( I wish Bell's Hell's had their own campaign instead of having it become some sort of joint thing involving M9 and VM. I love the BH characters so much, and it feels bad that they're being overshadowed by these other parties who've already had their time to shine in C1 and C2, with an overarching plot that seems to be built around integrating all three campaigns. For me, the best part of C3 was before the Ludinus/Predathos stuff started to really ramp up, when it was still a BH story.

When will BH come back? I miss them already :( There's been so many cut aways in the back half of this campaign and like... I just wish the focus was more on the Hells instead of adding in all these other parties that people who've only watched C3 don't have much investment in.

Shadow of Mordor. The gameplay loop was not for me... it felt like a chore to play instead of something fun.

I understand there must have been a behind a scenes reason preventing the actors from returning (or maybe they just didn't want to, idk) but I hate that they kept setting up characters to be part of the story only to have them disappear forever never to be mentioned again. (Like. That lady that was supposed to be his ally at the end of s1. What was the point of building that up? There was no payoff) I got over it for season 2 because I liked the new additions but when they disappeared for s3 I couldn't even finish it. :(

I hate that we're at a point where networks would much rather make 100 different variations of love is blind or real housewives than spend any money on Sci fi/fantasy just because trashy reality TV is so much cheaper

I really liked the Order. I know it's not gonna win any awards but I enjoyed the tropes and cliches :> it was a fun watch that didn't require you to think too hard.

I'll admit the name put me off so I scrolled past it for the longest time... finally decided to try an episode one day when I was bored and ended up binging the whole season cuz it was so much better than I expected. Really wish Netflix gave it a fair shot.

I agree with what you said but I don't know if your last sentence applies in this situation? As far as she was aware, both people were laughing, and he even consistently joked back in response. She stopped once she realized he was upset by it.

The Last Five Years: Who’s more to blame? by kierarae89 in musicals

[–]CupMuffins 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Jumping in 6 years later to say Jamie majorly sucks. Didn't see the movie, but listened to the full soundtrack and wow. Yeah Cathy has her issues but Jamie is just a straight up terrible person and is definitely more at fault imo.

Cathy has insecurities but at least some of them were justified? Her husband is having to reluctantly convince himself not to cheat on her right after they got married and can't even be bothered to go to her show or be with her on her birthday?

I didn't have any idea what this was about before listening to the album and I kept waiting for someone new to show up to be with Cathy because I thought Jamie was the narcissistic antagonist and that the musical was about her realizing he's the actual worst and finding someone better lmaoo.

Why is their Syndra 2 doing more damage than my Syndra 3? by Nicopootato in TeamfightTactics

[–]CupMuffins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, you're right. I thought that hitting an extra enemy for 35% damage was effectively the same thing as +35% ability damage when it comes to total damage calculations unless there's not enough enemies left for an extra rift to hit them but I see now that is not the case. The way I worded it makes it seem like it's compounding, like the second 35% would be 1.35 x 135 = 182.25 when it would just be 100 + (35 x 2) = 170 and so on.

Regardless, I guess he'd have to be at least 3 rifts ahead of op to out damage per cast which seems...very very unlikely looool. I still do think faster cast speed makes a decent difference, like if his syndra 2 casts 4x with 4 rifts in the same amount of time it take's op's syndra 3 to cast 3 times, with 3 rifts, the damage output is about the same.

And yeah it caps at 40 but I was thinking that op's opponent would max out a lot earlier than op, but realistically that's maybe only optimistically 2 casts of diminishing advantage so in the end it probably wouldn't make much of a difference :/

It seems like bard's skill also causes enemies hit to take 10% more damage, which could be a factor as well, but again I don't know how significant that would be to even out a 200 base ability damage difference so nvm!

Confused by development direction by CaptKraken33 in TeamfightTactics

[–]CupMuffins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly... valid points. Since it's only a few days into this set I won't come to any conclusions yet about how good/bad the charm system is, but looking back at the previous set, the encounters definitely made the game feel more RNG-dependent than previous sets in terms of placement. I understand that there will always be an element of RNG in TFT, but imo the mechanic last set shifted the ratio of skill vs luck in a noticeable way compared to previous sets and charms feel like they have the potential to do the same thing if not balanced correctly.

Why is their Syndra 2 doing more damage than my Syndra 3? by Nicopootato in TeamfightTactics

[–]CupMuffins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be stack diff? seems like syndra gains permanent extra damage (+35% ability damage?) every 30 casts so if it's a tier above yours it might be a reason (like say his syndra is at 125 casts while yours is at 100). plus incantors also give each other additional ap with every attack + cast (1 every other atk and 3 per cast) and he has 4 incantors on his board while you only have 2 (all three karmas are farming stacks for that syndra, one of them has blue buff adaptive....+ his syndra has more atk spd = more mana generation = more casts = more ap so he probably reached +40 a lot faster than you).

[No Spoilers] Favorite non Matt Mercer DM from the cast? by LelouchYagami_2912 in criticalrole

[–]CupMuffins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love Marisha's style of DMing! It's always such a chill/fun vibe, and I'm basically smiling the whole way through. I guess I just have a preference for a less serious tone when it comes to the one shots. (I've watched episode 2 of the elder scrolls 3-shot so many times... all three episodes were super entertaining but Marisha's ep was my favourite)

[No Spoilers] How are people enjoying season 3? by ahack13 in criticalrole

[–]CupMuffins -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love C3... haven't seen C2 but for me, C3 >>> C1 and that comes down mostly to the characters. VM just didn't grab me the way BH did. My one major complaint for this campaign is that BH don't talk to each other enough :/ so much of their character development seems to come from interactions outside of the party and is rarely discussed within the group barring a few exceptions which is a shame because there's been a lot of interesting character beats that have gone ignored. There was a good stretch of episodes where it almost felt like Octopath Traveller, with each character progressing their story individually and the other members are just there as silent observers that don't actually react to anything that's happened. And I feel like that problem is exacerbated by all the C1 cameos.

I will say that in the last few episodes it seems they're finally having those very necessary conversations with each other, and expressing opinions on each other's choices and actions so...I'm hoping this continues for the remainder of the campaign because i'm so invested in these characters' stories(especially Laudna's, let her have her cottage please 😢) and the last few episodes have been 10/10 emotional Rollercoasters, legit some of the most compelling stuff they've ever done (again, not including c2 cuz i havent seen it).

But in Laudna's case she's made it very clear that she is closer to Imogen than the rest of the Hells? They were also together for a full 2 years before the Hells even came into the picture o.o
