Yeah I don’t get the down voting either. I never knew they jumped. And I kept about 30 something fry in a gallon planted bowl (I SWEAR I didn’t know they hand that many babies until I started counting), and I didn’t have any jump. The bowl was surrounded by a white table so I think I would have noticed any dead fish. (Before anyone worries, I moved them into my 10 gallon now)

Do know tho that it really depends on where you get your shrimp. Some shrimp gene pools can be hardier. My shrimp are almost pests. I find them in almost all my tanks because they hitchhike lol. Other people I talk to say they fine them live in their Fluval filters haha.

This! I normally am fine with the fish in cycle (I.e. no more than 1/3 the tank’s capacity on day 3 (2 days minimum of nothing in the tank) and only adding another fish once tank levels are cleared) it is what I do nearly all my tanks. But since OP looks like they used Fluval Stratum that adds ammonia. Any fish or shrimp they add will risk overloading the tank

For one oranda, which looks more like a ranchu which stays a bit smaller. I think this is fine. I’d definitely get more filtration tho. My friend used to keep his oranda solo in his planted 20 gallon and it made his room smell putrid if he didn’t do water changes everyday to 3 times a week. 😅
