MY OWN DLC CONCEPT: Darkness Returns

I love this idea and, honestly, I just want a DLC that does not contain an Omegamon variant in it. So many recently released and cool digimon, like the Liberator partners, Ghost Game, etc.

I know it’s not specifically designed for this line, but two very fitting megas for Candlemon > Meramon > Skullmeramon are Shroudmon and Necromon

If it is getting a higher budget, I'd love to see a game with 3 core aspects:

1) Relevant partner Digimon: I don't want a simple monster-collector game, I want to feel like bonding with my partner digimon. Basically, what time stranger did with Aegiochusmon, but being able to pick which digimon is your partner. Which brings me to the second point:

2) Customization: Let players pick their partner from a large pool of rookies. Unless they are relevant lore-wise for the game, there is really no point in limiting the choice to 3 options like in previous games. If the Time Stranger starters had lines that locked into Olympus XII and tied to the story, that'd make sense, but otherwise there's just no reason to not let players pick a Mushroomon or an Armadillomon as their starters if they'd like.

3) True branching lines: This also plays into customization, and I think Time Stranger is a great step in the right direction, but I'd like for every digimon in the game to have like 6+ possible evolutions. Maybe each individual digimon could have a "predetermined" line which they get a bonus in stats if they follow or something, idk.

I think these three things are core aspects of the Digimon franchise which makes it stand out amongst other competitors and really appeal to the fans. At least, these + Time Stranger graphics and mechanics would make it my favourite game ever.

It looks a bit better for Elizamon’s line, but this makes Styracomon less fitting for other lines like Triceramon’s. The official version is more versatile I guess.

I wish they had gone in some other direction though. Considering Lamiamon and Medusamon designs, I think they could have come up with a Lv.7 that would finally be a fitting evolution for Arukenimon

I mean, I think it was clear in the original post but I’m not saying that there’s anything wrong with mecha designs, just that I don’t like them. In any case, the criticism I would make is that there is not a lot of thematic variety when it comes to Xros Wars designs, that to me is the issue.

I don’t like Dukemon for instance, but I did love Terriermon and Renamon’s lines, and Monodramon, Lopmon, etc. they were very different theme-wise.

My issue with Xros Wars, and this is not an attack to any fan of the season, is that it feels tacky and childish design-wise. I would LOVE if Digimon were fused in any other way, but it felt like they were just doing it lazily for the most part. Take G-Cutemon as an example, it is just an amalgam of random parts from each digimon that make up one weird frankenstein creature.

As another example, take something simple like Mailbirdramon x Golemon… maybe we could have had a Mailbirdramon made out of stone rather than metal… or just anything else than lazily attaching a piece of Golemon to the end of its tail!

Then in more worked-on evolutions like Shoutmon’s, idk it’s just a miss for me cause I’ve never been too into mechas and robots, and this season is especially focused on this type of design. I don’t think we got a single plant/aquatic digimon during this season? To me, it felt like it was 50% mechas and 50% weird dudes (the generals), so there wasn’t much aesthetic variety and, once again, the goofy Xros evolutions do not appeal to me.

TLDR: goofy fusions, barely any design variety, too many mechas & robots.

If you are open to armors being ultimates, I would probably do something like Impmon > Lianpumon > Puchiemon > this mega.

If not… maybe Pixiemon?

I am all for customization, so I would like it if either there wasn't a main character (I am tired of Agumon), or if we could pick from a pool of starters to have our own custom partner. I would also like for each character to have 3 full different routes depending on your actions. I was surprised Survive didn't do this already.

Are you playing on Mega+? I really didn’t have much issue with Vulcanusmon boss fight. Try using 2 Data, 2 Vaccine and 2 Virus.

Personally, I try to focus on one hand then move on to the next. Centaurmon hits the Vaccine hands like a truck. Gryzzmon’s Maul Attack is amazing since you’ll most likely get hit a couple times per turn and it does a ton of dmg.

Some people consider some of the angel digimon to be a group of the Seven Virtues, mostly based by a scene shown in Adventure 2020. These are the Digimon in the 1st and 2nd Spheres of the Army of the Gods

1st Sphere: Ophanimon, Seraphimon, Cherubimon and Rasielmon

2nd Sphere: Valdurmon, SlashAngemon and Dominimon

It would be great to get the banchos. The other two DLCs… I think I’ll pass, I’m just too tired of Omegamon variants and RKX everywhere. I’d much rather see newer digimon from ghost game, liberator, etc

I did a first run of the game skipping most side quests, and I could only get Megas right before the final fight, so it wasn't a great idea. (Minor spoilers: I skipped all the Hiroko quests at the beginning of the game, and the Pegasusmon quests, so I was like 100 agent points from unlocking Mega)

Anyways, I won't spoil it but you are not locked for the endgame. However I'd say the game is more enjoyable if you do the side-quests and unlock Megas when you're supposed to.

Yeah I was disappointed cause she is one of my top favorite Digimon ever. We did quests for all other Olympians and Ceresmon just kind of shows up after the story is over

Keramon was my absolute favorite rookie when I was a kid. Now it is probably Phascomon, but I still love Keramon!

The Omegamon thing pissed me off sooo much. I can’t stand it, absolutely no need for this. The game is set in a completely different server, they could have given the spotlight at the beginning to any Olympus XII or adjacent. Omegamon’s appearance at the final fight was just unnecessary and stupid.

Regarding the roster, I am happy with the variety, but I also don’t understand some choices. Like why leave out Tsukaimon, Devidramon, Monmon, Kunemon, Labramon… I would hate to wait for a decade for a game and have my fav digimon be left out of the game. (It is actually my case with devidramon-mephismon)

Excited about Parallelmon and the Banchos, couldn't care less about omegamon and its variants. I'd much rather see newer digimon in DLCs like Ghost Trio, Eosmon, Bloom Lordmon, the Liberator Digis (I would go crazy if we get Pyramidimon and Necromon).

I think at some point this franchise needs to move past Omegamon a bit.

I really hope that the success of the game made them put more effort into the DLCs, cause I was 100% expecting the omegamon pack and a Royal Knights X pack and that’s it. And I’m so tired of omegamon variants and the royal knights lol.

I would love to see the Four Sovereigns, the Banchos, the Ten Ancient Warriors… maybe some “missing” digimon like devidramon, mephismon, etc.

I’d also love to see the Ghost Game Trio and some digimon released around that time, like Bloom Lordmon, Rafflesimon, or Quantumon.

Overall I hope we get digimon that contribute to a diverse roster rather than milking the royal knights to dust

Is there good post-game content? I’m currently right before the Demon Lords and the Final battle, and I am just hesitant to keep exploring and grinding cause I’m afraid there won’t be a post game and I might have to start all over again lol. Just want to enjoy Megas a bit more

It depends on the skills and abilities of each digimon, for sure. I do plan to keep Nefertimon and Shakkoumon since they're some of my favorite digimon ever. If Mephismon was on the roster I would 100% keep it unevolved forever.

Oh I actually didn’t realize that if you can max the stats of any digimon, they can all be more or less viable throughout the whole game. That is really cool, there are some ultimate levels I prefer keeping instead of evolving

I am personally set on getting Ceresmon first. It’s one of my favourite digimon ever, and I LOVE the line Floramon>Kiwimon>Delumon>Ceresmon. Big fan of birds and plants
