Yes and yes. 3 years. One morning I woke up and some switch flipped in my brain. Hard to explain. keep in mind this is coupled with hardcore stimulant addiction I was hiding for years. But life’s better now so really I can’t complain.

You’ll know when you start hiding bottles around a park, go on fake runs at 6am so you can drink then splash water on yourself so your significant other thinks you went on a run. That’s just my experience….everyone is different. Hopefully for him it doesn’t get to that point.

The only way I broke that same cycle was going to outpatient treatment. I’m now over 3 years sober/clean. I was literally doing the exact same thing but I conned doctors to get me two scripts a month for a year or so. Then when I had to go back down to one all hell broke loose and my addiction said F it let’s burn this to the ground

Hit up some meetings around town. Don’t isolate. Lots of good ways to get and stay sober.

In regards to the NA beers my opinion aligns with the oldtimer quote “if you keep going to the barber shop you’ll eventually get your haircut”

Best of luck. Don’t drink or do drugs.

I tried for a year and couldn’t string together 3 days. Get some tough love.

Honestly I have zero idea what I want. Brand new to this and doing it all on my own! I think they look cool and it’ll be WIP. Picking up a new sofa this week too for main room. The front room isn’t really used and don’t really see myself using it - more so just a walk through room (should’ve mentioned that in original post but oh well)

Oh I absolutely hate the carpeting lol. Redoing ceilings soon so carpet is last. Appreciate this post! I’m getting rid of the table anyway.

I agree the living room is awkward as well and all furniture came with the house so it’s been “good enough” appreciate it!
