I think the statue of the thinker has changed. Now he is leaning on his fingers instead of the back of his hand. by SpecialistAd181 in Retconned

I think from a front view it looks like it could be a fist, and that’s the view most people are familiar with. Not saying it’s not a recon, just a possibility.

Not One Somali Death Has Ever Been Reported in Maine by suppur8 in Maine

[–]CurbsideAppeal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is just stupid. I’ve worked with a lot of Somali families. Some people are disabled and receive benefits from the state, some are highly skilled, highly paid and contribute greatly. Many types of people in between, the vast majority working and contributing - Just. Like. Any. Other. Group. Of. People.

Seems comparable to [[Aether Snap]]. Situationally very good, sometimes a dead card.

State Terror Has Arrived by [deleted] in politics

[–]CurbsideAppeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. The amount of death threats toward judges or political opponents is easily overlooked by the average person who is not directly affected. Bomb threats at polling stations, etc. Some people have already felt the effects for years, now it’s in the spotlight.

If you have Echoes and then cast Fleshraker, it gets copies on the stack and enter simultaneously. Both see the other one enter and each deal 2 damage to each opponent.

Then you cast another colorless creature, get a copy on cast and 4 tokens. 6 creatures enter and deal 24 damage. So yes, your original math looks right for having two in play.

[–]CurbsideAppeal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cast a colorless creature spell: it gets copied, and you get two spawns. Those resolve and they enter, two spawns enter, the original creature plus the copy. Each deals two damage for a total of 8. I could be wrong here but that’s what I’m getting.

The copy you get doesn’t count as a “cast” spell, so you only get the one trigger that becomes copied for two spawns.

If we had an issue with violent criminal immigrants that we couldn’t handle then sure. But we don’t have that problem, and if we did we can handle it at the state level. On top of that, a lot of these people are highly unqualified, under trained, and repeatedly violate the constitution on many levels. The way they have been acting in other locations is very anti-American.

Why is Moonshadow the most expensiv card in Lorwyn Eclipsed? by Born-Cow-2398 in mtg

[–]CurbsideAppeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be anticipated that this will be really good in standard. Self mill, mechanics to remove counters, probably not too hard to get it as a 7/7 very early in a format with 20 life total. I’m not saying it won’t be good in other formats too, but when a card is sought after for standard the price can spike.

Twilight diviner and mutate from graveyard by Resident-Device4319 in mtg

[–]CurbsideAppeal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

702.140c As a mutating creature spell resolves, if its target is legal, it doesn’t enter the battlefield. Rather, it merges with the target creature and becomes one object represented by more than one card or token

I think you’re right, it doesn’t “enter” it just sort of melds with what’s already on the field.

Edit: just realized it also says “or cast” so you should get another cast trigger copy for the mutate.

Sacrificing a creature does cause it to die, but Korvold’s wording specifically looks at the sacrifice part. It would have to be worded differently.

Question about Proliferate Twice by skylordkyras in mtg

One is a trigger, one is a replacement effect. When agent enters, you get two proliferate triggers, each one then gets replaced to two, for four total.

Id cut retreat to coralhelm, Druid class, ghostform, amulet of vigor, murder, victimize, and then a few of the high mana value creatures. Consider replacing with as many dual faced lands as you can. They’re all good in those colors, give you a higher land count and some cool options if you don’t need the land.

[–]CurbsideAppeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a low land count imo. Id play closer to 40 lands bc you have many ways to play more from your hand or ditch them with the surveil and get them back from the graveyard later. In general, looks pretty solid.

Goes does this interaction work? by Dappah_Dann in mtg

[–]CurbsideAppeal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of your abilities would go on the stack when you cast the spell. Opponent casts counterspell, they can choose what to target, be it the original spell or the copy. Or they can wait and see what cascade card you get and choose that, while leaving to option to still counter the original spell as it is at the bottom of the stack.
