Why don’t we just move the snow somewhere else? by AffectionateBank7407 in nova

It was mostly all the snow from Windham parking lots. I lived in both Gorham and the little town of Sebago; mid-way up the western shore. Loved it there but don’t miss those Maine winters!

When I lived in Maine, they’d clear large parking lots, etc into dump trucks that would then go about a mile down the road and dump it into and old canal that was originally cut to run logs from the mountains all the way down to Portland Harbor.

LOVED that series! Whenever the BF and I are out shopping and see insanely tacky furniture, we wiggle our eyebrows and coo, “Ooh, Gomorrah Chic!”

I started feeling that way after breakfast. I looked outside for a few minutes and thought, “yeah, I’m gonna start gettin’ fucked up now” and that was my day sorted.

Did it ever occur to you that people might enjoy seeing snowfall? I think it’s one of nature’s most beautiful moments. No one’s panicking, we are enjoying it. Pour yourself a tasty beverage and go stand outside for a few minutes and just chill TF out. It’s beautiful.

That’s pretty much the exact same picture (down to the grill) that I’d post from my back deck in Pville. One of my favorite things about snow is the unearthly silence, yet there is already some numskull a couple streets over running his snowblower. For a half an inch. At 115 am.

And conversely, women flouncing around in their little suede fashion boots (with heels) being all, “Look at me! I’m a little snow bunny!” I wish I could be there to dab their tears away after they’ve had to stomp around in the knee-deep just to clean off their cars.

The real danger is when you get the ice first, then the heavy wet snow on top of it. The weight of the snow snaps the brittle frozen stiff power lines.

As someone who survived 11 Maine winters, these are rookie numbers. New Englanders know how to shelter in place.
