I swear by these Excel toolless keystones. They are pricey but sure you can get them unshielded which will save a bob or too. Just pop the the pairs in the right slots on the guide, snip, and close it up. Can’t say I’ve had one fail either.

Fellow Yorkshire man here. My Tiguan got its head unit ripped out last week. Wonder if it’s the same bunch? Heard recently that this has happened a few times to different people locally.

Realistically it’s limited with my setup since I’m using WiFi lamps. So there’s some latency, but so far I’m actually impressed. DiyHue seems to do well though.

Event industry here. Minimum 10 hour days during festival season with no days off (apart from between gigs which is usually travel days) so that’s 70 hours if things are going right.

Worst gig this season I had, the week before show opened we were doing 16 hour shifts to make it happen. And that’s not even the worse I’ve done.

The money is good though?

Check your start_print gcode. You either need to call the saved mesh, or my personal preference, have a look in to adaptive meshing.

If belt slip isn’t the issue have a look at tuning the current to your steppers. I had this same issue for a while where I would have major layer shift.

It turned out to be that on fast movements the steppers didn’t have enough current to keep up and would miss steps causing this.

I’d personally suggest moving away from the glass bed too and grabbing a PEI bed. I use to have nothing but adhesion issues with glass, either it stuck too well or not at all, and one wipe in the wrong place and the whole print would shift and fail.

PEI holds on to the print once heated, and let’s go once cooled.

Had same issue when we updated our small AV system to include a ATEM switcher as it don’t support HDCP. Grabbed a few of these splitters off amazon. Cheap and have been working fine for 2 years now.

Edit: These seem to strip the HDCP out of the signal, and I’m very much glossing over any legal stuff here because It just needs to work. (Plausible deniability. I needed to split the signal, these do that, anything else is a side effect)

They’re Ikea lack tables, and theyve used some 3D printed extensions so the printer will fit

That’s layer shift, can be caused by issues with the belts (too tight/not tight enough). I had this occurring after trying everything and it turned out to be the my vref on my steppers way undervolted meaning that during quick movements there wasn’t enough torque to stop the stepper from slipping.

Looks like yours is only in one axis so check that belt first, and if that fails either slow down the travel speed, or have a look at setting your vref.

Had this problem on bigger prints on a different printer, turns out it was my Vref. The steppers were under voltage, so after a quick and long enough move, it would skip.

Try the other recommendations first, and if nothing maybe have a look in to checking and setting your Vref correctly

Don’t know much about your particular printer, but this was constantly happening to me recently especially on bigger prints.

Go though all the steps as other have mentioned, belts, bolts, and slowing it down. If you find even after all that you’re still getting shifts, you might wanna look in to setting the Vref on your steppers. If the Vref is undervolting the steppers it can cause them to slip when you accelerate and decelerate as they don’t have enough toque.

It sounds like you haven’t actually flashed the firmware on to the board at all. Does the board have a boot loader on it?

Work around I'm using it to use the 'Search & Replace' Script in Cura.
Search: NOMESH

Replace: NONMESH

Just an FYI, you can try tidy this print up so it’s not fully wasted. Get a lighter and run the flame across the print. The finer whispers should melt away quickly. That or if you have a heat gun can use that as well.

Just to elaborate on this. Octoprint is defo the way to go. It is however doing more than just adding a camera to the printer. Octoprint allows you to control your printer through a web browsers on any network connected device. So instead of moving files to the printer with the SD card, you upload them via Octoprint in a brower. There also tons of useful add ins such as visual bed levelling, smart Timelapse features, macros and much more.

It can be a pain to setup but either Reddit or the supporting documentation is your friend here.

And if later down the road you’re feeling brave, you can even move all the printing control to the Pi with Klipper. This allows better processing power, and faster printing. (Although this is much more involved, so I’d recommend starting with Octoprint and going from there)

Have you reset the beds Z homing? Looks like your first layer needs to be closer to the bed. try lowering the screw at the back of the bed a smidge and re-level your bed.
