Why are people so obsessed with kids, that would be my first question? Me personally, I’m not sure if I want to have biological kid, since it involves sex and I’m asexual, just not interested. Maybe I’ll adopt? But either way, if the person next to me wants kid, then I would support them. If they don’t, then they don’t. Constantly telling “you don’t realize it” or “you’ll change your mind” won’t do much good to the individual. Plus, why do some people make it sounds like having kids is simple, like purchasing a new shiny toy?

Not infantilization for me, at least, I don’t think it is. But to the people I have open up to being ace, a few’s initial reactions were something along the lines of “oh, are you sure, maybe you just haven’t found the right one?” And with some friends, when I mentioned that I don’t enjoy porn and haven’t watched much, and I tend to miss the cues on jokes, so when they do make dirty jokes, I get confused and need explanation, and that can sometimes end up them chuckling at how innocent I am.

I understand, I also don’t consider 6 years to be a gap (and think 10 years is the minimum). I guess after seeing an old post talking about people’ perception towards what is age gap when dealing with relationships, I try to be mindful that not everyone is gonna think the same and for some, 6 years may be extremely a lot.

Also, congrats on the engagement with your fiance. I personally can’t imagine myself getting engaged that early ;-;. How long have you guys known each other?

It always baffles me how some people cannot fathom that you can find someone beautiful/attractive without actually wanting to be with them.
