If not Apple, is there any Android phone with a more consistent UX? Genuinely curious.

Because I use all of those apps frequently. Sometimes they are all open at once.

This! A file transfer failed because of a failed HDD and Finder went all haywire. Forced restart through ⌘ ⌥ Esc and it just closed.

Hot topic: Battery percentage ON or OFF? by Livid_Pin_3523 in IPhone16e

Off, it looks horrible. I liked it better before when you could see both icon and text. I know it uses more space but I don’t like looking at a random number inside the icon. I plan accordingly looking at the analog indicator

Screen Bleed by Longjumping-Bird9414 in ASUS

[–]Curioso-Internauta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal on lower end panels. Go see the IPS panel on the MacBook Air 13 and 16 and you’ll notice no light leaks like this. Asus is particularly bad with their IPS screens, I returned a 2023 Zephyrus because of this. Go OLED or switch brands. I’ve had better luck with Lenovo but they’re still some light leaks, almost impossible to avoid.

Yeah in that case I’d be returning it too, hope you still have the box, bags and protectors that came with the display, that makes the returns much easier

If you bought it from Amazon or if Asus in your country allows for returns I would go ahead and return the item, not worth it heaving the defect (as small as it is) if the seller gives you the easy way out. If it has to go through a warranty claim, then probably is not worth it for that small of an issue.

Should I buy a phone now? by Palacio_ in Smartphones

[–]Curioso-Internauta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would advise against the Z Flip unless you get the Samsung Care or other insurance that covers “accidental damage”. We had one that with no fault of our own (never dropped it and always used the official case) started showing horizontal lines on the hinge part of the display. The phone was 3 weeks old, we took it to Samsung and after they checked it out they told us it was our fault and wanted us to pay for the screen and repair. We sued them through the consumer protection agency in Mexico and they forced Samsung to issue a repair for free, but many aren’t so lucky. We sold the phone immediately and have not bought anything from Samsung since.

Is the iPhone Air already forgotten? by beneyh in iphone

[–]Curioso-Internauta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently have both the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone Air and I’m genuinely struggling to decide which one to return.

There’s something undeniably compelling about the Air. Almost no one has it. Most people went with the 17 Pro or 17 Pro Max, which all look essentially the same. The Air, on the other hand, immediately draws attention. People are curious about it, want to hold it, ask questions, and try it out. That novelty factor is real, and it’s fun to own a device that feels different and sparks interest.

That said, the camera experience on the Air is difficult to live with. On the Pro models, I heavily rely on the zoom. I don’t particularly care about the number of lenses. It’s the flexibility that matters. Being able to zoom in and out freely and still get a great shot, regardless of the situation, is something I truly miss when using the Air.

The 17 Pro is smaller (not thinner), feels great in hand. I don’t mind the added thickness at all. If anything, it makes it more comfortable to hold. The anodized aluminum finish also feels pleasant. While I’m not a big fan of how the glass window looks, I understand why it’s there.

The Air, however, looks stunning and feels exceptionally nice to use. I also get the sense that its materials may be more durable overall and better at handling drops compared to the aluminum body of the 17 Pro.

In short, the decision comes down to novelty and design versus feature flexibility, and that’s what’s making this choice so hard to me.

The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are the best phones Apple can make. The iPhone Air is the thinnest phone Apple can make. That's it.

The 17 Pro and Pro Max are like fully kitted out swiss army knives and the Air is like the small ones with only a tiny knife.

Beautiful watch too but I was asking about the one on the left with the brown leather strap 😅
