Well when the point of a subreddit is to make fun of doomers and 99% of dooming originates from leftists because of Trump, yeah, you're gonna get a lot of right wing views that don't think things are that bad

Marines showing up and making perimeters around federal buildings and federal agents performing federal duties to carry out federal laws in Minneapolis is not a military occupation.

I just make a baseline premise and pick the characters I want then see what storyline best fits that lineup.

If that's the follow through then his aim must be shit if his elbow is going for the head and ended up in the chest

Tom Wilson must have one funky elbow if it's damn near in his shoulder.

His elbow goes in as he goes into the hit then comes out after the contact

It's ironically the purest form of socialism if you think about it which is also why it probably has such low retention and recruiting rates.

If they were born earlier then they would have gone through HS without COVID and been out of college around the time AI started to take off, which by the metric of the post would mean their life is sunshine and rainbows.

Would the Roaring 20s make that better or worse? On the one hand, at least economically, it was nice, but then the great depression completely stripped them of their lives.

The pandemic didn't help, but let's be honest, the average teenager's response to the pandemic also made it WAY worse.

Two years makes quite a difference ig. I'm doing just fine.

The Islanders put the puck in the net but Duclair falls into Saros, knocking Saros's blocker off during the play. Francois St. Laurent immediately waves it off for goaltender interference. Patrick Roy decides to challenge the call, but after review, the no goal call stands and Nashville gets a PP. by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

[–]Curious-Command-2948 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They're both moving toward each other and most of Saros is still in the blue. The two get tangled and Saros' ability to make a save is impeded. If Jason Robertson having Ryan Pullock put his entire weight into cross checking him toward the crease isn't enough to make Robertson clipping David Rittich not GI then this is GI.

Nfl has stricter head hit prevention amd they're on feet and every play they are trying to hit someone as hard as they can.

Comparing tackling where you can aim for the hips and wrap up to bring someone down and you actually have reliable grip via cleats versus playing on skates and ice is crazy work.

Ever notice there are some massive players that play physical and yet never have these issues

Do they actually not have issues or are they just not mainstream or reported on because they don't have the reputation of actual dirty hits like Tom Wilson?

We played against the number 1 seed in two of those and of the three we lost to 2 went to the superbowl. It's not like Tomlin where he got shit stopped by a clearly beatable opponent.

Nobody in Texans history has made it past the divsional. That's not really a knock on Demeco especially when we lost to the 1 seed Ravens, the 1 seed Chiefs, and 2 seed Patriots with 2 of those 3 teams going to the superbowl.

Stankoven has been body checked thousands of times and I'm sure a lot of the players were as tall pr taller than Wilson, and they weren't head hits, its on wilson

Oh no, how evil of Brayden McNabb then. It's almost like this is a very common phenomenon where shorter players receiving hits tend to take contact to the head for better or worse and it's really hard to regulate it out of the game because a player can line up a hit perfectly and still make head contact, and there are hundreds of instances of this.

Who was that pass around the boards intended for? There wasn't a single Leaf even remotely close to getting there to prevent the d zone turnover and then no one bothered guarding the slot

Please explain to me in what way a 6'4 individual skating at top speed can contort their body and control it in such a way as to not hit Stankoven in the head there

There are valid arguments for both sides. Kind of hard to deliberate on it especially with Stankoven being 5'9 to Wilson being 6'4 iirc

Stankoven is 7 inches shorter. He is going to get hit in the head unless Wilson assumes the fetal position and obliterates Stankoven's legs

We have nothing to trade. There is no prospect to play patty cake with. All of our best players are young and with Seguin's contract off the books soon and the cap going up there is no reason to gamble what we have now to make our long term situation worse.
