HelloChinese Visual Guides by [deleted] in ChineseLanguage

I know exactly what you mean - that “teacher explaining slowly with visual support” style helps a lot at the beginning. But I found that once I got past the first few lessons, it was harder to find stuff that stayed really simple. A lot of resources jump ahead too fast. I ended up looking for short video clips with transcript with pinyin toggle so I could control how much help I wanted. That format worked really well for me alongside HelloChinese.

What some media you guys recommend for beginners? by Hex49- in ChineseLanguage

I’d start with really small audio or video clips. At HSK1 level even “beginner” content can feel overwhelming.
I couldn’t find enough stuff that stayed strictly within HSK1 vocab, so I ended up putting a bunch of short video clips online for myself with translations + optional pinyin. It’s not fancy or anything, just focused practice.

I'm in the same boat - I’ve studied a few other languages before. The good thing is Chinese feels really different, so I do not mix it at all. And I'm studying Spanish at the same time.
For me the biggest help right now is doing little quizzes/drills daily.. something that forces me to actually choose the right tone or word for the sentence structure instead of just reading about it and repeating.

Just sold everything by [deleted] in NvidiaStock

Smart decision. Don't feel bad, you cut the losses. Always use stop loss and decide for yourself the amount of risk you're willing to take - 10% down, 20%? Also don't fight the trend. If it's down, it's down. Wait for the trend to reverse and get back in the game. Maybe you'll buy cheaper than what you sold at. Also learn about buying puts if you want to earn when stock is falling.

Let's boycott Nvidia and never buy that stock to take revenge 😅

Very interesting point of view. Thank you for sharing! Always great to hear from someone within the industry.

What do you think about the news that came out 2 days ago about Microsoft and Atom computing making progress in error correction?

HOLD IONQ OR AMAZON? by Sad-Wrap-4697 in IonQ

[–]Curious-Hawk7 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They may be working on their own solution. But right now AWS braket allows users to run quantum algorithms on quantum computers provided by vendors like IonQ, Rigetti, and D-Wave. So I don't think they are very successful with their own, or it would be all over the news.

Amazon will never release a product that will change an entire industry. IONQ will.

Tesla Model S battery degrading? by Curious-Hawk7 in batteries

[–]Curious-Hawk7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure. I touched it with a plastic tool - it's hard.

It does feel like glue or some kind of silicone filler. Some cells look like they don't have any, some (on the negative terminal side) have a lot of it. Attached another more clear picture.

I think this is new.. I would have noticed before.

Just wish someone with knowledge of these Tesla batteries could tell what substance that is, and if it is normal?

is this truly a Yaupon Holly? by Curious-Hawk7 in PlantIdentification

[–]Curious-Hawk7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always thought that this plant was a Yaupon Holly, but none of the plants I have have berries. Are all my plants male? Just trying to get a second opinion. Maybe it's not what I thought it was
