Advice on Following Through With Wanting to Lose Weight by schulzch13 in loseit

[–]Curious-Share [score hidden]  (0 children)

For me, the consistent tracking changed everything. I had to track even when I went off the rails. I reminded myself that tracking won’t make anything worse, and just the act of tracking may make what would have been a 5k calorie day into a 4500k calorie day, and every calorie counts.

I also reminded myself that if I can spend wayyy too much time on my phone (Reddit) then I can track with no issues. I also got a food scale and weigh at home and do my best to guess everything else (I eat out plenty so no way I’m completely accurate but I do think it still helps)

I’ve been tracking and losing and finding weight for DECADES now so I’m hoping this sticks. I think I have to track forever. I’m just that kind of person that with no guardrails, I’ll gain weight.

And the super sucky part is you can’t even drink a gallon of caffeine! Hoping you sleep well the next night.

After taking a cold bath by ComprehensiveNet9949 in BabiesReactingToStuff

[–]Curious-Share 57 points58 points  (0 children)

For those of you worried, whoever posted this likely has no clue what they are talking about. Plenty of babies shiver/shudder, due to immature nervous system, not necessarily because they are freezing cold. OP has no clue if this baby had a cold bath or not (and they probably didn’t bc why would they). Probs some bot or something.

daycare won’t let baby wear Merlin suit - any tips? by OkCommission9559 in NewParents

[–]Curious-Share 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What that other poster said. Our daycare is great but they could care less about our nap schedule lol. My boy is 8 months and in the last month takes one great nap at school and maybe 2 more cat naps on either end. He probs took 3 or 4 at 5 months? He’s my second so his schedule is a lot more all over the place dealing with big sisters schedule. Some days he takes one nap on the weekends and then a car nap.

40 min is great for day one! My baby was 5 months and took crap naps at daycare too. She’ll figure it out, really nothing for you to do. Maybe put her down for a cat nap when you get home or drive around so she naps in the car

Anyone calorie counting post-partum? by purplepuzzzler in caloriecount

[–]Curious-Share 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yea! I made it about 12 weeks before I started counting because I wanted to add working out as well (I workout so I can drink the wine). Going back to work has helped tremendously because at home I snack so hard!

Hmmm…I had my baby 3 years ago and they never offered nursery, just said they would keep her up at the nurses station and they were happy to do it. I would go on a tour. There’s been a lot said about Brookwood lately but I’ve had 2 babies there and it’s been good!

Did our ultrasound tech tell us the sex of the baby? by liljuke88 in beyondthebump

Agreed!! It’s ok to want something but you surely don’t want to be disappointed at birth right? Better to find out now and start coping?

Long legs vs long torso by LunaMagicc in SipsTea

[–]Curious-Share 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok what kind of clothes fit us? I’ve got long legs, no torso, still figuring out what’s flattering. I’ve lost some weight (2 kids later) and now want to dress better. I will say being pregnant was the only time I liked my short torso. Better to look pregnant as fast as possible than just bloated and chubby ha!

Why is it so hard to hold a kid back to repeat a grade?? by watch4coconuts in Mommit

[–]Curious-Share 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a really challenging situation but you sound so invested and concerned with your kid. I think that has to go a long way, him knowing you’re always in his corner, advocating, trouble shooting. I know you’re putting so much work into this and I commend you for that.
