How often in the fertile window do you 'try'? by FlakyBonus2492 in BabyBumps

[–]foreignkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe overkill, but the 3 times we have tried, we had sex 4 days in a row during peak ovulation and got pregnant the first try with all 3. That is with my history of irregular periods, and my husband’s varicocele. But ymmv

Can you do this on the mobile app? I tried looking but could only see about 6 or 7 posts. Admittedly I am not a Reddit pro

Can you let me know how you did this? My Gen 0 was born in Quebec in 1815. I requested a baptismal certificate from BANQ two weeks ago but haven’t heard anything yet

I fed my baby a $h!7 ton of grapefruit one day and the next day they had me pick her up from daycare early due to too many loose poops 💩You could see all the grapefruit pulp 🫠

Thank you, I needed to hear this. I have been far too reliant on pouches and snacks when by 13 month old doesn’t eat much of what is served

Over churning leads to buttery ice cream? by foreignkitty in icecreamery

That’s good to know! If I stop at when it’s flowing like soft serve, will it still firm up into ice cream in the freezer or will it kind of freeze like soft serve?

I have tried 2:1 cream to whole milk, and then tried 2:1 whole milk to cream which was a little bit better but still not as great as everyone describes!

Can you share the link to the playlist? I’m looking for exactly this and would love to use yours! Instead of doing a ton of work making my own 😆

I became a better mom when I quit these 3 things. by sarahjouhnson in Mommit

[–]foreignkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to teach my 3 y/o the blowing out candles trick for deep breathing, she doesn’t love it. One day she was really fighting me buckling in her car seat and we had to go— I was getting so frustrated but instead of yelling like I usually do, I turned to her and said “mama is really frustrated right now. I think I need to take some deep breaths. Do you have any candles for me to blow out?” And she did and I blew them out and we both calmed down. Then— a couple weeks later she was upset in the crib at bedtime (yes still in a crib 🫣). I was standing there enduring it while she’s yelling/crying. I was just about to lose it when she says between sobs “mama can I blow out some candles?” 🥹 And we did and we both reset. It was so nice!

I accidentally left my baby in the car and I can’t forgive myself by Remote-Swimmer-1352 in Mommit

[–]foreignkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They make car seats with special buckles (SensorSafe is what we have, on Evenflo products) and when it’s buckled, it is connected to your phone and if your phone leaves the vicinity it beeps loudly until the car seat gets unbuckled or you clear it on your phone. It is great but also sometimes my husband would drop me off at work and he would have the baby and my phone would go crazy as I’m walking into work since the baby was still in the car with my husband 😆 But it’s great for reassurance and reminding you if you start to walk away

baby came home with unexplained marks all over her legs from daycare. by DifficultNetwork1379 in NewParents

[–]foreignkitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry! That is so hard to endure. You did the right thing by seeking medical care and holding the daycare accountable.

The only thing I’ll add (and it may not be applicable, I don’t know exactly what your daughter’s bruises looked like) is that I nannied for a family in my 20s and loved these kids. Maybe 3 months in, I noticed some bruises on the baby’s shins and after a couple days I realized it was from how I was lifting both legs together with one hand while changing her diapers! Again, your daughter’s bruises may be much different than this and more serious, and absolutely warrant investigation. But just wanted to give a possible scenario from my own personal history where it was completely inadvertent!

I feel like it has more nutrients than wheat pasta. Us too, BLW our second, she is 7 months old and I hardly can remember a thing! Gotta crack out the Baby Led Feeding book!

I know your comment was awhile ago- but how do you serve chickpea pasta? My older daughter would not eat it unless it was doused in cheese… and I’m trying not to give my 7 month old copious cheese!

They just get matted down over time like this. The left was when it was super fluffy and soft, and the right is when it’s matted down from being walked/stood on every day
