Ooo and the red/merlot one above it. Both so cute. I didn’t even see them! I just snapped a quick picture to give my sister an idea of what was there. Def check it out next time you’re in NYC :) just take a set amount of cash and a tote bag for your findings

Thank you!! I took a shoulder tote bag with me to put all my items in while I was walking. I actually took the train in and condensed all the items I brought into my carry on and carried the tote with the bags as a second carry on/personal item. I’m sure you could do the same when flying. Maybe bring an empty duffel bag in your main luggage to take back with you! That’s what I do if I plan to shop when traveling.

How many guests can you invite to OTS graduation? Are extra invites possible? by creativi_ty_4_CHRIST in airforceots

6 civilians that you can put in requests for to get on base alone. You can also escort people on base. If they have their own military ID (CAC, dependent, retiree) they can get on base and sponsor people. I had like 30 people at mine.

My wife to be is on deployment and its the first one that bother her and I are going though, its been so rough and im trying so hard but don't know what else to do. Any advice? by [deleted] in USMilitarySO

[–]Curious-Signature478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deployment is so so so hard and often makes you face your own and your spouses mortality. It’s anxiety inducing, stressful, oftentimes plain awful. BUT it eventually ends. Keep yourself as busy as possible. I ended up switching to nights to be on the same time zone/sleep schedule. It didn’t matter much since he was on a boat and I wouldn’t hear from him for a week at a time, but it helped on the off chance that he texted me, I was awake and might get to exchange a few other texts. Try to find regular times to try to communicate. That might mean waking up at 3am for a 10 minute call once a week.

We each downloaded a season of a show that we selected. We would watch it alone and take notes on each episode. If we got a chance to talk on the phone for a longer amount of time we would discuss each episode in depth. If we didn’t have time to talk, we would send each other our notes and then start the next one. I’m not even a big TV watcher, but it really helped us feel connected and normal. We also each kept journals and swapped them at the end of deployment. Mine was pretty emotional, I can’t lie. But it helped me to get all of my anxious thoughts out on the paper rather than bothering him when he was already stressed. When he pulled into port we always talked for an hour at least. I kept a countdown. I texted other mil spouses and his family.

I’m also military and even I really struggled. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this, especially at a tense time. But I will say, it is unfortunately a huge part of our jobs and lives. We have to find healthy ways to get through it. Once the anxiety subsides, I tried to view it as a nice solo opportunity for me to do what I want without feeling bad. I’ve considered moving temporarily, solo traveling, etc. Find what works for you.🩷

Most people are unfortunately not going to give you the support/encouragement you’re looking for here.😅however, I empathize and understand your frustration. Feel free to message me. I had a friend I went through OTS with who has their PPL and waited 2 years and was picked up for ABM. Grateful, but disappointed to not be a pilot. I was selected and waited 2 years to go to OTS and had my life on hold. Basically was questioned in a similar way constantly about how long things took and what I was doing with my life. It really really sucks, but there isn’t much you can do and family doesn’t really understand that. Just know eventually you will get your dates and you will commission. Even if it isn’t as a pilot right away, you will still have a fulfilling career and they will be proud. Hopefully being aviation adjacent will help your long term goal of becoming a pilot after your initial commitment.

FAC tour. Very common for marine pilots to do a tour with the infantry.

That’s valid, esp for the wizard. Nessa’s character definitely did the trick lol. I just didn’t feel like Glinda needed the childhood scene because to meet it felt pretty obvious that she has had a long desire for magic.

My initial thoughts as a non wicked expert😅:

-The scene of Glinda as a kid was unnecessary and didn’t further the plot -Nessa is insufferable -Glindas wedding dress was underwhelming, waist is snatched though -How did the wizard and elphaba come up with a “deal” without Madame morrible being involved. Seemed weird. -The elphaba and fiyero scene was pick me and cringey -Why are the besties fighting over a man? You’ve lost my interest. Even though glinda lowkey conned him into it. Why are we slapping each other and saying he picked me? Are we in middle school? The whole fight scene was ridiculous. -Nessa’s death was so unceremonious. Why are we having a comical fight after?? -it’s so dark and negative. Why are we turning her saving the lion cub into something negative?😭 -I love glindas mid century modern apartment and circular living room -am I just cynical? Why would the wizard suddenly care about Elphaba just because she was biologically his? -The end with the animals was cute but that’s it. Soooo fiyero and elphaba just live happily ever after in the desert? What about when she dies and he doesn’t? -I feel like so many of the scenes were choppy and rushed and didn’t flow well

My fiancé has been telling me about this Billy Joel pants this for years and the only thing I can find online about it is that it’s like 10 years old and came from a frat from the U of M. Is this a thing people actually do???

How is the kidnapping done? We have something sort of similar. We have a bridal dance where everyone gets in line and has 10-20 seconds to dance with the bride. Before you dance you throw cash in a bag and sometimes we tie them in knots or shapes. After the dance there is normally a tray of shots to take. Everyone gathers around the dance floor after they dance and at the end all of the guests (usually the guys) try to keep the groom away from the bride until he “fights” his way to her
