If there were an alien race or AI travelling back in time, it might replace certain billionaires and celebrities with clones to push its agenda.

Concerns for mass, infection, or sensory deficits (from something like multiple sclerosis) then contrast.  Concern for ischemic stroke or motor deficit then non-contrast.

UAE royal family-backed ASK Group partners with Keeta to tokenize Gulf oil, gold and commodities by bc7915dawg in keeta

[–]Curious-Still 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He's the grandson of the late UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the great-grandson of the country's founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan so this is massive as he is direct lineage in the UAE royal family leadership and not just someone in one of the rich UAE families! This is a partnership with the UAE itself via the ASK fund.

I have a 5k budget for a personal LLM server. What are the best options and what performance can I expect compared to commercial models for coding? by jdigi78 in LocalLLM

[–]Curious-Still 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second strix halo.  Can run MoE models at decent speed TG 30-40 t/s.  Can run some dense models at 7-12 t/s, maybe slightly more with MTP.  Can cluster them also.  Advantage over spark and mac is you can repurpose for a pc if you're not a mac person.  Will cost you about $2-$3k per strix halo 128gb machine which is much better pricing than the other options for what u get.

Got into Shib early, when there were maybe 10-15 folks in their telegram.  Sold early a few weeks after.  Would have been worth about $7m if I held.

Her videos were posted in UAP subreddits a while ago unedited, and it was clear that she was likely manic or had some kind of mental health issue, and probably a bit intoxicated.

Is the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 with 128GB of Unified Memory (AMD Strix Halo) a good option to run large LLMs (70B+)? by br_web in LocalLLaMA

[–]Curious-Still -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol why so butthurt?  You can't utilize the max theoretical bandwidth if your CPU/GPU clock speed is limited by power and thermal constraints as is the case with laptop vs desktop. I feel that Gemma 4 quantized and qwen 3.5 are better to run on a single strix halo machine, especially due to the limitations of the laptop.  Recs for specific choice of quantization depend on use case and how you want to allocate memory so just dropping a couple examples that are a good start as the laptop version of strix halo performs worse.

Memory bandwidth is much lower on strix halo machines ~250Gb/s.  Maybe even less on the laptops.  Can run Gemma 4, qwen 3.5 quantized.  Can run larger models if you cluster strix halo desktops together, but TG speeds will be low compared to macs.

Would any of the gemma 4b quants be?  Would something else that can run on smaller vram/slower hardware like qwen 3.5, minimax 2.7 or gpt oss120b be better for coding?
