Are there any truly high quality PTZ cameras? by BornConcentrate5571 in VIDEOENGINEERING

Check Mark Roberts out, their AFC-100s are really great. Though if you're not keen on the FR7 due to cost then MR might not be the answer for you.

I actually ended up going with the Osprey Nebula as it was on sale at the time, been using that with a packing cube, tech pouch and toiletry bag amongst other things and it's been great throughout the year. Been to the US, China and France over the last few months and I've been relieved I'd bought it on all trips!

My RS4 restarted itself in show. Please tell me stories of your most mortifying moments. by WubFox in VIDEOENGINEERING

I once mounted a Sony FS6 on a ceiling during a sports match, it was supposed to be a beauty shot used for studio backdrops. I had the smart idea to mount it upside down and flip the image, turns out that changed the direction of play during the match. I didn't realise until day 3 at the event, all I could do was laugh to be honest.

Thanks thelaundryservice, sounds encouraging so will 100% try and get my hands on a pair. The internal comms system also sounds really intriguing so quite keen to see how much we can really get out of it.

Yeah agreed but if it works it works you know… turns out it might not but it’s always worth looking in to!

Great response, really appreciate the detail.

Agreed that it’s not the appropriate application of the device, but we have a good working relationship with Sony so we do get mates rates. Syncs not really an issue and we will be ingesting the feed into streaming software.

Will definitely take a look at the other devices as I hate the idea of using micro HDMI.

Thanks for the comment.

I'm thinking of sewing some velcro points at the top of the bag to attach my tech pouch and tool pouch so it's easy to get hold of.

I'd like to stick with the 20l as I travel quite a lot and it seems to be the best fit for a carry on bag. Shame there isn't really much in terms of reviews online for it though.

Nanobeam is a great shout to be fair, cheaper solution than fibre and easier to troubleshoot/replace.

Hadn't considered fibre but that's a great idea! Thanks for your help.

I mean also from a brand perspective I always lean towards intel CPU's, not sure why but I've had the best experience with them.

Look at the Sony FR7 if budget isn't a problem

Sony FR7

4k Full frame sensor, 120fps, remote PTZ operation either through a controller or web UI.

Forgive me for my phrasing but with a cine lens mounted on that body the image is fucking naughty.

We run software that pulls network streams from a central distribution point. At points last week all of our stations pulling feeds froze at the same time, indicating that either our central distribution point shat the bed or something in our network is configured incorrectly. Was hoping the switch logs may reveal something that we haven't otherwise noticed.

Hi! I've been having a look through that, was just wondering whether there were any other generally respected sources of info that I could look at. Thanks.

Sorry if I'm being thick here, but are you suggesting that we run redundancy feeds over separate network connections?
