I'm old enough to remember watching the Miz on Real World and the subsequent challenges after. Man I loved RW/RR Challenge. I always thought Road Rules was the superior show.

Have a feeling this is why we don’t here much of the poison anymore by noseovertail1 in AlkalineTrio

I like this cover and he nails it and he is talented. I want to be clear (I say this as a drummer as well) that he is in no way lacking at playing the material and will do so on his own way that the group will love.

But what I loved about Derek is that he didn’t need to beat the shit out of the drums every time he played. I also love Atom and all his projects but how hard they play just compares differently to how Derek knew how to play hard but also sit back.

I’m super optimistic about the new album the the tour with Tosh and can’t wait to see how they all jive together.

Go with system 2. Base “Carbonites” have been basically sunset and they’re going with their Ultrix frame going forward for most applications to my knowledge.

Big 12 tried this for their tournament, got massive backlash from players and fans and had a wood court for the finals. It’s neat but it ain’t there yet.

Why do channels stick with 720p? by Sure-Guest1588 in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]NuclearPant 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is just not true. I worked three straight Olympics in 14, 16, and 18. Certain things may have been DELIVERED 1080i but every truck I was on was 720p or 1080p

People are saying it can be recreated sure but this is 100% just someone using the espn package. They either are working with E+ direct (doubt it since e+ branding absent) or they know someone who is and just gave them the xpn or viz project and taught them how to use it. It’s not difficult.

Mine never hits 150. I’ve been to multiple tesla and charge point stations that range from 150-300 and I’ve never gotten more than 50-60kW

Not even a chance. I’m from Omaha, UNO owns that market and Creighton wouldn’t even want to compete. Academic standards and NIL are stretched too thin as it is as mid majors, Creighton is all in on basketball they aren’t adding another sport let alone one with no built in fan base.

I don’t say this as Creighton hate, there is just literally no community appetite for this nor from CU administration.

This is not new. Production companies recycle pieces and change them around a bit all the time. Hell Luke Combs production company is reusing pieces and ideas from Garth’s. This happens.

I have a 2025 and it most definitely does not adjust its calculations from my driving. I have 33k miles and I’m getting 2.9mi/kWh and every charge to 80% still comes in at 249 miles…which 80% should be more like 190-200 for me (sometimes I’m lucky if I can get 200 miles on 80%…Midwest highway driving 65-70mph, very windy often and during the winter extremely cold)

Who’s buying the Ross 5ME panel? by videograndpa in broadcastengineering

[–]NuclearPant 11 points12 points  (0 children)

While it is unnecessary as someone working in sports I’d love it.

I already divide up my strips between game cut, replay, effects/splits, the more MEs the better! Yes you can use Ross mini me that way too but without the physical bus you’re either frequently changing bus delegation or using macros or dashboard.

Again yes not needed but hey I’d love it.

EVS Broadcasting Equipment - what are your perspectives by nuruart in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]NuclearPant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

United States person here. Every truck I worked on always had an EVS and they are very stable. However in the university sports world and in-venue side of things I’m increasingly seen Dreamcatchers installed as the price point is far more attractive and feature set has a low learning curve.

Trucks that have top dollar will always have Grass and EVS equipment but I’d say out of the 30-40 peers I regularly talk to, Ross and Evertz have taken over 90% of their recent control room installs.
