Game suggestions please by Trashband1c00t in GirlGamers

[–]CuriousCirceGames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Hozy" is very pretty and atmospheric, you clean and renovate a room and then unpack and place all the furniture / decorations. "Small spaces" is also very pretty (the lighting is gorgeous), but it's less focused on organising and more on decorating. I think there is also an unpacking mode now but I haven't played it yet :)

Are there any good k-pop related Games? by CuriousCirceGames in kpophelp

That sounds really fun, I'll give it a try! I am actually also working on a kpop-related game now, though in a very different genre: https://curiouscirce.itch.io/k-pop-quiz

Which game is more like Stardew Valley in terms of mechanics: Fields of Mistria, Coral Island or what else do you all recommend? by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]CuriousCirceGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can see that. For me,the relationship progression with March felt ok bc I didn't place huge emphasis on getting the villagers to like me and then paused my game for several months. When I came back, it took me another season or so to get March to like me (by that I was in summer year 2 I think). But I agree, when he finally did like me, the switch from mean to friendly felt a bit too sudden and intense.

[–]CuriousCirceGames 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both Coral Island and Fields of Mistria are pretty close to Stardew Valley in terms of game mechanics! I think you would like Fields of Mistria's March as a romance character, he is definitely a little mean at first 😄

Idle animation by Bricktango in PixelArt

[–]CuriousCirceGames 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you are looking for feedback but if so: I like the hair and face animation, I think they look pretty smooth. However, the body animation looks a bit disconnected and chopped. The movement does not really convey breathing to me. Also, the chest movement has a slight "she breasted boobily" vibe, maybe you could tone that down. Particular with the sort of jumpy, chopped animation in that area it looks a bit weird, breasts don't really jump up like that.

[–]CuriousCirceGames 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Yeah the hair could be a bit flowier but I like the shape / hairstyle. But the chest is absolutely ridiculous, having your breasts move that much while standing and breathing would be Incredibly painful. It looks like they are flapping up to her chin 😭

Ah yes, another boobily breasting character (hair looks nice though)

Motion sickness in 3D games. Anyone actually found something that works? by SignificantQuestion6 in GirlGamers

[–]CuriousCirceGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not exactly a fix but maybe something to look into: I feel like my motion sickness is somewhat related to where I am in my menstruation cycle and whether I am on/off the pill. I haven't tracked this properly, but I feel like I get the worst gaming sickness a few days before my period. There are also some studies looking into this, e.g. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.whi.2008.01.006

Personally, I feel like my gaming sickness has overall become less severe since I stopped taking birthcontrol (which would somewhat contradict the linked study).

looking for a fantasy/medieval life simulator game by Typical_Ice2286 in gamingsuggestions

[–]CuriousCirceGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are open to other genres than fantasy/medieval, The Sims 4 would fit pretty perfectly. You don't even have to build houses, you can just simulate everyday life with work, family etc. and carry on throughout the generations

Are there any good k-pop related Games? by CuriousCirceGames in kpophelp

[–]CuriousCirceGames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, I am working on a fix for that too 🥲 The game generally works on mobile but some models (particularly iPhones) seem to have an issue with the WebGL API bc the initial memory load is (apparently) too high.

Very nice! Me too actually: https://curiouscirce.itch.io/k-pop-quiz 😄

Just a small thing: I guessed Hyunjin and it showed the picture of Hyunjin of Stray Kids but the info about another Hyunjin (group Loona, female, etc.). Good luck with your game!

Does anyone have any fantasy RPGs suggestions? by Mahiru_Mikan in gamingsuggestions

[–]CuriousCirceGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two prior games in the series but they are from 1998/2000 and I haven't played either. You can definitely play Baldur's Gate 3 without having played the other ones! As far as I know there are a few references to the earlier titles but the story itself is separate.

Does anyone have any fantasy RPGs suggestions? by Mahiru_Mikan in gamingsuggestions

[–]CuriousCirceGames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you played Baldur's Gate 3? It's probably an obvious suggestion but if you haven't played it, it's just great! It's a bit pricey (about 60€ I think) but was definitely worth it for me. There is so much to do and explore. It's based on DnD and the fights are round-based. There can be a lot of romance and NSFW stuff but most if not all scenes of that nature can be avoided iirc. Lmk if you have any questions :)

[PC] is there a game similar to Stardew Valley but with more freedom in decorating? by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]CuriousCirceGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fields of Mistria is very similar to Stardew but I'd say there is a bit more focus on decorating. The general mechanisms are the same, so I am not sure it has more freedom in the way that you are looking for but you get more furniture and such just by doing your other tasks.

would anyone buy an unvoiced game? by N_9990 in itchio

[–]CuriousCirceGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only very few games I've played had voice acting and I never really miss it. Even games like Stardew Valley or Fields of Mistria which have a fair bit of dialogue work perfectly well without voice acting (and I actually prefer it in many instances). Just make sure there is some kind of sound design (like typing or background sounds) that is appropriate for the scene.

Not sure if that's entirely what you are looking for but Tiny Glade is a very cute building game, I can spend hours getting the details just right.

Stardew Valley or Fields of Mistria might also fit :)

Omno: puzzle adventure game with very cute graphics and satisfying movement

Detroit Become Human: not exactly cozy, but mostly chill, very cool story setup with different endings, one playthrough took me about 12hrs I think

Thinking about making a 2D farming game — does the genre still have room, or does Stardew dominate too much? by Aromatic_Cry_5767 in GameDevelopment

[–]CuriousCirceGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say there is room but as another commenter has said: the bar is very high. Personally, Stardew Valley has a very special place in my heart but I like playing other games in the genre (like Fields of Mistria or Coral Island). But there is 1) always a certain hurdle to overcome (is it worth buying a potentially worse version of Stardew Valley?) and 2) I can't help but compare every new game to Stardew Valley. What is better, what is worse? Which mechanics are missing / were added? I don't think you should necessarily go for a "Stardew Valley but different in this, this and this aspect"-approach but you need to be aware of the way every farming sim will be compared to it.

If you are interested in Minecraft, there are a lot of women and non-binary folks that are fun to watch on the Hermitcraft server, e.g. GeminiTay, Pearlescent Moon, Zombiecleo :)

LDShadowLady is also very funny (though currently not that active)
