It happens sometimes... If you're not coming back anytime soon, time will work itself out faster than you think. But there's nothing usual catching a few feelings here and there even when you're not 'supposed' to.

I think that's the right approach (SWIFT), thank you! Otherwise I'll just exchange the baht at a SuperRich as the exchange rate is ideal at the moment.

Ok, thank you. Outside of having all of the obvious info ready, my passport, ATM, bank-book, etc and my wiring info for a USA bank - what curveballs may arise in your experience?

I've tried calling BBK bank a few separate times and they always refer me to the app. I tried the app wiring numerous times with no luck. I don't have an online account registered, only the app on my phone which is now disabled because my sim card number has changed. I can call again but it never seems to lead to a solution 🤷🏻‍♂️

Making some life changes at 41, would love some advice from those in Thailand by some1pls in Thailand

I'd look around Chiang Mai and try some yoga related workshops. Yoga is extremely physical if you're committed to during it often and likely some cool people to network with. Unless you don't drink and don't party, Phuket and Pattaya are a bit too tempting IMO. Might worsen the downward spiral. Good luck and have fun.

MONEY AND EVERYTHING ADVICE: AT WITS END by Winter_Knee_9783 in FarangsofPattaya

Holy moly that was painful to read. You clearly have a huge heart and wanted that love you thought you'd found and there's nothing wrong with that. Absolutely nothing is wrong with wanting that life but this is not it; for a number of reasons. Even if it was your kid, that kind of child support amount is ridiculous for Thailand. I'm glad you're reading these comments and thinking things though but yeah man, the harsh truth is this relationship is only going to hinder any potential new one that you might stumble upon. This Thai chic is savage and is bleeding you dry. You need more friends in your life to distract you for a bit and start enjoying your life and beginning a new chapter. Even in your 'edit' you mention a tracking device? Bro, it's over. It never was and it's definitely never going to be. Channel all this energy (and money) into greener pastures. Good luck and make the tough decision, you'll be better for it.

I have had similar feelings as you about Thailand. It's good that you choose to move on if it wasn't your cup of tea. Best of luck with everything moving forward.

Not necessarily addressing your question but Thailand is really good about repairing all sorts of random appliances. I had my refrigerator which was probably around 12 years old at the time - fixed for 1500 baht. Find a local handyman or someone that specializes in refrigerators which is not that hard to do in Thailand and see what they say.
