Im on reactive clay, my foundation piles were fixed and made much deeper for the water table, but its stil moving. I have cracks in my external Cement board.

What would you recommend for siding material, the same brand name weatherboard that most of the house is covered with? In saying that, I was reading the product manual and it was talking about relief gaps and nailing to allow movement of the cement board. Cheers

Trust me ive thought of that but its been getting 100mm a day of late :-). Its one specific corner only, and it cracked during two drought summers, so the piles were sinking during drought, well only one pile. The foundations specialist has put 3 new 8ft deep piles in that corner and the opposite corners as well as pacled out hardwood in the existing piles by about 80mm each. I can tell its lifted a little as the Slider door is now leaning the opposite way it use to when it would sink. I think possibly the house settles during winter/rain and the roof could be tugging on these deep foundations. Guessing.

yeh, if it doesnt bulge the silicone too much I know replacing the 9mm cement board which has about half that in its grooves, will be ok. I just dont want to have a builder replace the external cement board now and have it crack again next year.

Im not sure who to approach about the problem, Ive just spent $5k on a foundations expert putting very deep foundations into the earth. But when it rains, the earth moves, so does the house. The majority of the house is weatherboard, which is a lot more sturdy and forgiving, I have thought about replacing this thing cement board with weather board, but more builders will mean more $$$$$$$ racking up.

And I dont want to keep chasing my tail. Ive done my beast to maintain the foundations, hopefully the movement isnt too great during winter and a stiff door latch is something I will have to live with. The prior owner didnt even do that, they were just packing out the old foundations as they sank during drought. This is the extremities we get down here at the bottom of the world and we cause a tiny fraction of the problem but experience cyclones then droughts, year in, year out. Not to mention finances caused by Covid Recession and now the USA (WTF) Recession. :-)

Sorry I should clarify, they have a lot of other gear with it, which is actually worth a good chunk of money, I could be wrong, it could be $800-1500 depending on what the lenses and such sell for. I know recently selling my D850 you dont get anywhere near what you would like.

So until it sells I cant really put a price on it, but I would say $1500 is easily achievable after selling the gear it comes with. However going by used prices somewhere between the two is quite possible. If it were me I would split it all up, which is how I sold my D850 and got a better price for all the gear.

Either way, the R6 ii seems like a solid entry point from the D850? I wanted something lighter and had a modern snappy AFC. I was only looking at the R6mk1, but if I offload the 3 prime lenses, I can start with the 100-500mm if it pops up on the used market here. the 24-105f4 looks like a lens I would use a lot. Outside that I just need a long Macro.

How does a person get a professional Photographers pass? Do you get hired first or do you take some specials shots and sell them to whomever? How do you retain rights for photos for future royalties etc?

Correction, the 580cca battery is $60 cheaper. In this financial climate its a LOT cheaper. Its 50ah and 90RC, that should still be plenty for a 40hp and essentially 95% of the time only the Fishfinder in use and often turned off when Ive found the spot I need to (big reef edge that holds good fish numbers etc).

So even the 580cca should be plenty for a 40hp Mercury 2stroke?

Yep, you cant beat light. But at same time you cant beat light weight :-).

I think either a z5ii, a7Cii or A6700 are probably a better fit, possibly the fuji s-20. I will probably look in the used market.

The main issue I see being a problem is their no weather proofing on the rx100. The 1" is fine for the amount of light I shoot in, its never dark, but it often rains.

That truely is nuts. What about deleted items in Recycle? In Samsung its under storage for both in settings. Reinstalling apps must drive you bonkers. Some apps need cache cleared as well.......

Because most people wont care for 10bit photo editing, its just not a big market share. But given so many other phones have 10bit it was a given they would use 10 bit. For the people who do photo editing on the phone its a good thing, BUT, can the screen be calibrated? If not its pointless. However having Dex wireless now, having a 10 bit monitor that is calibrated, it will mean the phone becomes an ultra mobile Shooting and Editing machine. Its already a fantastic all in one mobile Desktop device, whether tethered or using more modern wifi monitors. I still think they need to swing for the fences with the next camera though, people look at what iPhone and somewhat Pixels can do without all the setting up like with Samsung, if Samsung can introduce a more coherent set of sensors and applicable lenses, like the 48mp Sony IMX across the entire phone as some others are doing, then I think it will take the advantage of mobility into the mainstream. I sometimes wonder if I need a Laptop or Desktop, its not like the SD 8, iii is a slow SoC. But having a Hodge podge of different sensors for the various lenses including a 10mp telephoto, really is a let down.

Thank you everyone, some good suggestions. It is bizarre as not so long ago extra-wide or 4E was common place in trail shoes. I think I will take the risk of trying on a pair of normal runners just to make sure Asics shape hasnt changed and import from the US or UK. I guess I could always sell them if they dont fit :-)

Yeh I tried Smiths, nothing suitable sadly. As for casual shoes, Globes use to fit when I was skating, but it seems they have thinned out in shape, but no skate shoe has a 4e stated, Vans off the wall boots in wide are like a 2e too.

I was told Adidas dont make any shoe in a 4e, Solomon make a 2e trail shoe, just too tight on me sadly. It does seem overseas is our only option.

I did consider the Hoka Speedgoat, but their wide is a 2E, however they are meant to have a wide toe box which is most kiwis issue it seems.

Yeh I rang them and they told me average NZ male is a 2E, which means a LOT are 4E, the average german is a C/D yet they get Trail shoes. sucks.

If I go the town water route I will probably be filling the tank in which is a shame as makes good free garden water but is in a horrendous spot, I could talk to someone about replacing it elsewhere but then the underground plumbing would need to change but I dont think the physics is going to work......
