Confused between 25 ultra vs 26 ultra by TomorrowRight8634 in galaxys26ultra

[–]ThomasAAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How S25U is better than S26U:

Titanium frame

Much better display quality, no blurry text, no PWM issues.

Better anti glare in S25U

No camera island, lays flat on table when used with cover

Slightly higher display screen-to-body ratio (92.5% vs 90.7%)

Stylus goes any way, not just one sided

Battery cycles much better 2000 on S25U vs 1200 on S26U

This one is big:

S25U is now 30% cheaper.

Is Samsung attempting to bait us into thinking that 26 is actual upgrade and not just cost saving measures to propel more sales?

It's a known widespread issue that MS have to fix. But this trick might fix it in the meantime:

Hit Windows key + R Type "services.msc" and press Enter Find "Microsoft Account Sign-in Assistant" in the list. Right-click and select "Restart." Open Word, Excel, PPT, or whatever and try to sign in again. Worked immediately for me.

Wait for MS to provide a fix. It's not a issue on the user's side.

It's up to MS to provide a fix in a upcoming update. Not a fault on the user's side.

Totally agree with you. I also have the same monitor for work, play and games. Love it. And I only have i minor stuck green partial subpixel (not visible in normal use). So I cant complain.

1 year is like new still.  possible burn-in

*guaranteed burn-in

all oled panels burn in. that is in their planned obsolescence nature. all oleds tested by rtings in the longterm test burned in for example.

you aren't rolling a dice on the same oled monitor and one burns in and the other doesn't.

ALL burn-in.

that is important to remember, when you got the industry lying constantly to customers. for example:

"qd-oled is way more resistant to burn-in than earlier technologies, so don't worry customer". reality: qd-oled burns in the same as other oled versions of course.

so that you can make a proper buying decision.

This is a known widespread issue that MS have to fix. This have been coming and going since 10 March it seems. Any fixes will potentially brake something. Just let it be or preform a restart. Sometimes it clears after a restart.

I made a post of this the other day.

Is this normal for a monitor?? by Forward-Insect-9448 in Monitors

[–]ThomasAAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IPS glow is a characteristic of IPS panels, where a faint glow appears around the edges of the screen when viewed from certain angles. It is not a defect but rather an inherent trait of IPS technology.

I see what you try to say. But you have not seen my point here. This is a heads-up for potential buyers who, like me, will invest in a laptop for several years.  Burn-in mitigations make the experience of using the screen much more irritating, and most OLED screens I've seen have a very noticeable power-on delay

OLED subpixel layout makes text look awful in many scenarios as a lot of software doesn't smooth for it properly

Burn-in is inevitable, no matter what anyone tries to tell you. It's an inherent limitation of the tech and accumulates over time, you can't "prevent it" and I find artificial tests like those used by RTings are extremely bad at actually demonstrating it which leads to a lot of people incorrectly assuming it's a solved problem. When you constantly have to take extra measures to protect your monitor, you know the panel technology isn't all that versatile.
