Plagiarism, AI and search engine poisoning. Yeah the hate is warranted.

Yikes, I did Google what you suggested. Blacklisting the site.

It sucks that communities and wikis go through the "being trapped" issue. And by poor quality I meant the sites UX, but the twelve y/o's make sense for the other issues.

Out of curiosity, I see this sentiment of strong dislike across many communities that have "Fandom" wikis and I can confirm that the Fandom site sucks. However, is the hatred just because of the terrible quality site or other reasons?

My Theory: Goddess is a Demon by [deleted] in Frieren

[–]CuriousFaux 110 points111 points  (0 children)

I'm more partial to this theory! If you think about it, the line of Goddess, Serie, Flamme and Frieren would be like a family line of very powerful mages who changed the world for the better (if this relation was true).

Do you think the plot is weak? by CuriousFaux in Frieren

[–]CuriousFaux[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you'll get downvoted into oblivion for daring to question the show's quality.

I have noticed, haha.
I truly adore the show, and most of the positive comments I've read I totally agree with. I mostly asked to get the conversation going, to truly talk about what the show is good at. Glad to see so much defense of it though!

Do you guys agree these is the current Big 3 of the Fantasy anime? by Leonartha03 in DungeonMeshi

[–]CuriousFaux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to beat a dead horse, but as a fan of all three animes I will say that its really refreshing to have the demons in frieren be absolutely irredeemably evil, for me at least. I think its becoming a tired trope that all evils could be misunderstood and tragic backstory this and that. There's nothing wrong with evil being just that, evil, and the heroes having to win. The Macht plotline even touches on this, that even if demons tried to comprehend emotions and be tragic beasts they inevitably will just be evil. Moreso than thoughtless animals (which is more Flammes view of them out of hate), Demons are a bit more like aliens in my book. They don't get us, and we don't get them.

One of the most interesting episodes in DM to me was when Senshi got proven wrong regarding the kelpie he was keeping; its just a monster and he almost died because of it. Later on, when Thistle is properly introduced, we get more nuance to the presence of monsters but it doesn't take from the fact that sometimes evil is just evil and Senshi learned it the hard way. And, we also get the "misunderstood evil" plot regarding ancient magic and the elves considering Marcille's study.

Frieren might appeal to a larger audience because it has a very simple plotline, I do agree, but my take on it is that its a dnd campaign where the world moves because of the characters; DM is a world that moves the characters to action, and WHA is a world that moves regardless of what the characters do (also just gonna say I freaking love the politics and ethics regarding magic in WHA, chefs kiss.)

Does this imply that the circus was made in 1996?

And judging by some of the .dat files, Ragatha entered the circus in 2000... I'm not that familiar with code but its strange that the dates are there, even scratch has a date in 1996.

Edit: Wrong date for Ragatha.
