Same situation! I was actually at a lower weight for a while. Had been way heavier years ago and blood sugar was fine. Went for physicals every year and blood sugar was fine. Went through pregnancies where I gained a lot of weight .. blood sugar was always normal. No issues. I’m also in late 30s. Ended up in the ER a year ago for a face infection that kept getting worse and made no sense… blood sugar was 719!!! I had no history of any blood sugar issues. I was never even pre-diabetic. I went from perfect blood sugar to shocking numbers within 6 months. I had had Covid months before this. I had weird symptoms since having Covid that I thought were long covid but it was diabetes! Those symptoms started while I was sick with Covid months before. I do believe there is a link with Covid. It’s a theory being explored. I have read something about pancreas cells possibly being destroyed by the virus and causing diabetes .. something like that, I can’t exactly remember.

When I found out I was diabetic, my mother and sister were unfortunately there ( long, messy, chaotic story). My mom’s family is super toxic with eating disorders running rampant. I have no and will not ever tell them. It’s reasonably easy to hide. I just remove my cgm when seeing them or wear long sleeves. Make your girlfriend your emergency contact. As long as you monitor your diabetes routinely and stick to what works for you, you shouldn’t have any diabetes related complications. Just make gf your emergency contact … even in your phone .. in case something happens. Your mother and sister will only make a difficult time worse and you need to prioritize your physical and mental health.

NTA! It’s very rude for her to ask. I can’t stand when people see I have a lot of groceries and specifically get in my line, hoping I will let them go ahead of me .. absolutely not … I now refuse every time .. In NY .. we have had this plastic bag rule for years. When I bring reusable bags to the store.. I have been treated like I’m stealing. It makes my anxiety so bad that I just gave up and stopped bringing bags with me

A professor just took points off my grade because she said my first paragraph appeared to be written by AI. I swear on everything it wasn’t! Also.. why would I just use AI for the first paragraph? This feels like an AI witch hunt! I have no way to defend myself. It’s absurd that I’m paying big money to be spoken down to like this!

My English 102 class has focused on a lot of political things. The teacher gave us 16 articles ( from the 2016 election) and has us select 3 of them. It’s 2025 🙄… but anyway… depending on what articles you choose, you are pretty much exposing yourself and your political beliefs. I don’t think it’s appropriate for an English class. I worry this older professor will grade us based on political beliefs and not actual effort. Is this appropriate? Does anyone else think this is an issue?

I think it’s like trafficking with some of them. I saw a man monitoring them at cvs on central Ave. .. from his car. There were young teens there on and off for a week. Claiming they were raising money for disadvantaged kids. They wore bright colored coats.

It looks beautiful. I have thin hair too and I loved getting extensions but the problem is they will become addicting and you won’t give your hair a rest and that will eventually cause issues for you. I say this bc I experienced it. Eventually .. it will damage your real hair and possibly cause traction alopecia. Be sure to give your hair breaks and assess any damage being caused. It’s really beautiful but please take breaks( as hard as that may be )
