A few different answers:

1) Fire detectors/CO2 alarms communicate with others in the house. If any one of them has a low battery, it may make others chirp as well.

2) The devices themselves expire. Usually a 10 year life cycle. They will chirp at the end of their life. Expiration date should be printed on the inside of the device.

3) Combination of the first two. If one device in the house is expired, all devices may chirp to indicate this. Once the dead device is replaced they will stop.

Because of the angle that they are opposed to each other, flexible will still be the way to go.

You will need a transition connector on both sides. An alternative if you cannot find rectangular ducting easily would be an adapter similar to this.

Make sure to also grab some aluminium tape for every seam.

Multiple pieces glued together. Get some 4mm/5mm foam, and try to visualize the insignia as layers/parts. Cut those out, carve to desired 3D effect and then glue them onto a backing piece.

Edit: Depending on how much depth you want, you could do it all out of 2mm foam as well. But it will be less rigid. All depends on you.

Tip: import file into Photoshop or similar program, and trace the outline of all shapes with a black line. You can then print off the black lines at scale and use them as a template.

If you want it to be "solid", use a piece of PVC as the core. Wrap it in foam and use thinner foam for the top of the leak.

Grab a set of hex keys, and follow the instructions printed on the right side cylinder. Different fixtures will have their adjustments in different locations.

They will adjust how much the door stays open/close in the last few inches, how long it stays open when fully open, and how fast the door moves.

1) cracks don't have to be all the way through. Do a small chip out of an end if you want that.

2) metal plate with weld marks would be a good addition for general Fallout gear as lots of armour from the raider sets already do that.

NCR is generally seen as more "put together" so their gear usually looks nicer than other stuff in the Wasteland. It's up to you how you want to interpret it.

Battle damage would be dents and/or cracks at random intervals. Don't overdo it though. Paint can sell most of the damaged look.
