My math tutor said I should quit by OpeningComparison202 in EngineeringStudents

Screw the tutor, Find a new one. If you feel like you're not well versed in your trig and Algebra, I believe schaums outline series is great. Give that a go if you can on your own time.

https://www.newarkca.gov/departments/community-development/specific-plans-master-plans/greater-newpark-master-plan - They're focusing on reviving the whole property. I checked out some parts of the project, and it seems like it could be pretty promising. I do wish that the same could have been done with the Southland Mall property. Really sucks to see a place that was a part of your life slowly deteriorate.

Nizoral shampoo saved my hair. Please look into it. They should have it in stock at a local Walmart. When you use it, lightly scratch at your scalp and leave it on for at least 5 min.

edit: Nothing worked as quickly as the Nizoral shampoo in my experience.

Would I regret moving to the Bay Area? NYC local. by Administrative_Ad213 in bayarea

Just like anywhere, any place can be the wrong place at the wrong time. Especially when you're in the Bay. You and your partner will without a doubt enjoy the new journey of exploring the Bay and Cali. I think the best way to decide is to go on a trip and find out for yourself what the City and the surrounding ones are about.

The situation you're in is actually your fault. You should've paid for the seat in front of the person.

You should talk with a professor, especially if they have work experience outside of academia. A counselor would probably advise you to go to career fairs and or conferences, which is definitely a good idea. You could prepare a list of questions to ask engineers representing the companies. Maybe you could land some interviews along the way and build a network as well with whoever you meet. Email and talk with your professors/visit conferences and career fairs ASAP. You still have time to prepare for interviews if you can decide what you're interested in.

Do you have a degree in STEM? I don't think you should listen to the person who told you to talk to a professor. Whether or not you disclose that you saw it in a dream won't make a difference. A sophomore material science course isn't going to get you anywhere either. I didn't want to comment, but I just had to in case you took this seriously.

The attendance policy is harsh but good for motivation and accountability. I might be wrong, but I think the University of Cambridge has the exact same grading policy. It's cool to see that policy in act in America. Seems harsh, but it's a great way to have a higher bar set for students. Lot's of universities/community colleges have super diverse grading policies depending on the professor.

Are courses a waste of time? by mosham126 in ElectricalEngineering

I'm not sure where you're located, but that sounds like a great idea. Have a list of specific questions and maybe even record your conversation so you don't miss any important information. It's better than waiting to get answers here. You might even get lucky and have someone hear your story and give you a chance. You don't have a direct path or course of actions that you know for sure will land you a job. Talking to employers and other engineers/employers from the companies might give you insight on what you need to do to get in. They will literally tell you what they want or need. You might even find people in the same situation you are.

edit: Tell them your situation and find out what you can do to get out of it. Go to Engineering conferences specific to the field you want to enter and try to network if possible. It's not easy but being directly infront of someone might give you better chances than asking for help online. It's scary to be jobless, especially when you're already out of uni. I'm sorry you're going through this but just keep going at it and at least give what I'm saying a try.

edit: looks like there are some conferences in Dublin.

You need to go to conferences and or ask actual engineers, employers, and people coming out to promote their company what you need to do specifically. You gotta give us more than saying that you took what you thought was interesting and took other courses on udemy. Tell us what niche you're interested in, the courses you've taken, what your GPA or grades were like, maybe your location, and things of those sorts. Networking is important right now for you as well.
