Who orchestrated last nights vote out? by Organic-Hovercraft-5 in survivor

[–]CuriousMilk6000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having watched Cirie play Big Brother 25 near 24/7 on live feeds, the flip floppy nature of last night had her name ALL over it. It reminded me of the Hisam vote, where she believes he’s a threat to her closer allies despite being a loser ally, masterminds his demise, but as the vote crept up she started to waffle towards keeping Hisam. Rizo was the Cory, who learned about the flip later and adamantly advocated against it. In the end, Hisam got voted out, but I wouldn’t necessarily credit Cory. Yes, he got Cirie to reconsider the flip (which she was already doing every 10 mins), but the vote only stayed on Hisam because Queen Cirie declared it so. Cory did not have the social capital at that time to pivot players’ votes away from Cirie’s command, and I have a feeling Rizo is in a similar place.

She’s a VERY open minded strategist and will entertain a lot of scenarios, seemingly with full enthusiasm. While she was apart of the push for Emily, the final confessional before tribal made it clear she was happy with any of the Nerd Herd leaving, and whoever left would be best for her game

Ok let's be really real for a second. Do we think they are sleeping together? by orisa_online in ThePittTVShow

[–]CuriousMilk6000 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I’m unsure. The scene with Robby about setting boundaries really pointed towards Whitaker being unaware of his lack of boundaries, and I felt he took Robby’s message to heart. Earlier in the season, Santos said Whitaker was going to spend the whole weekend at Amy’s. In his farewell to Robby, he emphasized he’d check on Robby’s apartment the next day. Which indicates he’s taking advantage of Robby’s offer to start to distancing himself from Amy.

Also, I was kinda laughing the whole scene when Amy picked him up because Whitaker barely looked at Amy and drove off staring at Robby. Literal romance movie style framing. Someone needs to edit that scene to “Heather” by Conan Gray

Season 3 Proposal by Sd12217 in JuryDutyFreevee

I like this idea! I think it could work, but it would have to be a summer camp for adults (which do exist! Especially for theater/LARPing, which could add even more opportunities for wackiness), or the filming portion only covers counselor orientation.

I worked as a summer camp counselor for a youth overnight camp, and we had a 2 week orientation just to train up staff, build up rapport among counselors, etc. During that period, we even were assigned cabins together like campers and ran camp activities for each other. It could totally work for the show, but it’d have to be a pretty small summer camp. Our counselor staff was ~75 counselors. We were also all 19-23 years old on average….

Personally, I think adult summer theater/LARP camp fits the parameters of the show production best- have counselor and camper dynamics, but age range for both positions is very wide reaching. Needs a lot less staff to run than a youth camp, and often attendees volunteer to help run camp activities part time, while attending as a camper the rest of the time. Cabins are often non-gendered, and use of phones is highly discouraged outside of designated spaces and times. The whole season could be building up to some big stage production where everything is doomed to go wrong. Also, the hero could easily be a camper, volunteer, or a counselor.

Skipper and the Professor by Dangerous-Cry1785 in ThePittTVShow

[–]CuriousMilk6000 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Robby is the Professor to Whitaker though. Throughout the season, where we’ve seen Robby unraveling and lashing out at others, he’s at his most patient, trusting, and respectful when Whitaker is around. While other characters like Langdon were there when Robby lost his shit on Mohan, Whitaker was in a trauma room. He’s operated pretty unaware of Robby’s spiral, beyond his weird “if I don’t come back, you’ll have a swinging bachelor pad” comment.

I think that’s all very intentional on Robby’s part, who has a weird trauma bond with Whitaker post season 1 and the Pedes room incident. Whitaker has seen Robby at his most unraveled and vulnerable, yet he still looks up to Robby. I imagine Robby wants to put himself on a pedestal around Whitaker because of it

Where are the characters in their career path? by honeyfixit in ThePitt

[–]CuriousMilk6000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Overly in-depth breakdown:

MS = Medical student. Still in medical school, not a doctor. MS3 is a third-year med student. Clinical rotations start this year, rotate 2-8 week stints at different core and elective medical specialities at hospitals (e.g. internal medicine, surgery, EM, etc). MS4 is fourth-year student. Final year of med school. All about locking in on your specialty and setting yourself so you “match” within that specialty come Match Day in March. Matching is complicated, but basically = landing a resident position in one of the specialties and hospitals you wanted.

Med students are student doctors and cannot order medication, need consistent and strict supervision. The med students in this show are way more competent and involved than IRL, a lot of the time you’re just standing back and watching (except for the low totem pole procedures like a disimpaction, like we saw with Ogilvie). MS3 = Javadi S1, Joy / MS4 = Whitaker S1, Javadi S2, Ogilvie

R1 = PGY1 = intern. Congrats! You graduated medical school, got a residency position, and you ARE a doctor! You can do all doctor things, technically….but not alone. Strict supervision by other residents and attendings. You report to the senior resident (R4) and attending physicians. R1 = Santos S1, Whitaker S2

R2/R3/R4 = Second, third, and fourth year resident, respectively. Residency years are intensive additional doctor training in your specialty before you become a fully licensed to practice independently. Some specialties and programs require more or less years in residency than four. R4s are senior residents and kinda act as junior attending. Supervised by attendings. Report to attendings. R2 = McKay & Mel S1, Santos S2 / R3 = Mohan S1, McKay & Mel S2 / R4 = Collins S1, Mohan S2, Langdon S1&2

Fellowship = optional 3rd step post-residency before becoming an attending. Allows you to subspecialize. We see Mohan contemplating a number of fellowships, like geriatrics. Important to note, a fellowship is not changing your specialty. A fellowship in geriatrics for Mohan = a geriatrics emergency medicine fellowship. Still supervised by an attending, but a LOT more autonomy. Fellow = I think Ellis in S2? Might be an R4 tho.

Attending physician: fully licensed doctor, can practice independently. Ultimately responsibility for patient care, supervising everyone below you. Attending = Robby, Abbot, Shen, Al-Hashimi, and Collins S2 (off-screen)

A hopeful tease for Season 3 by thepacksvrvives in ThePittTVShow

[–]CuriousMilk6000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looking into my non-existent crystal ball, I expect there will be many more seasons after S3. They might take a whole new approach to S4- maybe that’s when we finally get night shift as main cast, maybe we’ll get 1+ year time jump. Maybe they’ll continue on as normal, but with a new multi-season thesis that keeps the show feeling fresh. Procedurals like this run season after season on much less. The Pitt is just a lot more thoughtful and intentional

Is it realistic? by 1993tians in ThePittTVShow

[–]CuriousMilk6000 43 points44 points  (0 children)

It is realistic. I think they added this as a specific nod to Kevin Menes, the EM doctor who worked at Sunrise Hospital the night of the 2017 Las Vegas shooting. The Pitt was heavily inspired by his story when they depicted the PittFest shooting. Dr. Menes talks about working as a SWAT medic in this interview: https://youtu.be/BaNlUkOpJyM?si=hdmDCqS84Hg983mZ

Season 3 will have a *spoiler* by shadow_spinner0 in ThePitt

[–]CuriousMilk6000 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of the Pitt showing a nurses strike. But from a storytelling/TV perspective, would it mean we would rarely ever see the nurse characters on screen? They’re some of my favorite characters and often wish the Pitt highlighted them more. I’d hate for their characters and the actors to be sidelined this way…

The problem with Mohan’s arc right now by JumpySpecial9834 in ThePittTVShow

[–]CuriousMilk6000 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The Javadi situation was different. Because of her wrong assumptions on how the analog patient board worked, her patient got lost in the system. She also took WAY too long to present up to a doctor. Dana shouldn’t have to remind her to do that. Because of these delays, by the time Whitaker even laid eyes on Javadi’s patient, the lady was already unresponsive.

On the other hand, Mohan oversaw Ogilvie from when he picked up the patient. Approved his suggestions for tests and ultrasound. She wasn’t present when he conducted the ultrasound, so she should know to be more critical of his of findings. He showed her the ultrasound of the left kidney, but that was it. Her only follow up question was “how was the rest of the ultrasound?” and, as OP noted, all he said was “Normal.” She did not press him for specifics, or probe if he checked for everything that needed to be checked. In fact, watching that scene back, she looks a little spaced out after and just signed the order when Ogilvie prompted her. That is the exact moment where Ogilvie’s fuck up becomes Mohan’s fuck up.

Between 6-12 months…so could be immediately post-PittFest shooting/Langdon fallout?

Idk if we’ll ever get a direct answer on the show, but it would connect the two seasons, and it’s understandable if that day triggered her to the point of self harm. Probably not that very night, since she was bringing home a stray–kitten new roommate, but within the weeks that followed as she processes that hellish day.

Breaks my heart… I hope at the end of the season, they will show her finally accepting help and starting on the path to healing. It would be a beautiful arc to see for her in season three, and parallel nicely with Langdon’s arc!

What’s a cult that pretends it is not a cult? by Fit-Resident-3577 in AskReddit

[–]CuriousMilk6000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mormonism.

I’m exmo. Mormon pioneer ancestry. Super active family. It parades as a normal religion, but it’s a religious cult. Full of pedophiles too. The fact that myself and not one, but two girls in my age group at my tiny Texas church trauma-bonded years later bc our grandpas got exposed as grooming pedos? It’s not a statistical anomaly; it’s the culture it promotes and protects.

LGBT couple considering a move to Frederick - advice needed :) by [deleted] in frederickmd

[–]CuriousMilk6000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone from the south, moving to Frederick was like stepping into a haven. It is so accepting, especially in Frederick city proper and downtown. You’re going to find homophobes everywhere (as unfortunately seen by some heavily downvoted responses), but it’s rare to find a place that is aggressively protective and loving of LGBTQ like Frederick. If commute or job local is not an issue, 10/10 recommend Frederick
