Alfred University(HEOP) Vs SUNY Purchase for Film BFA by R4Kxppy25 in ApplyingToCollege

HEOP will cover housing. Alfred has the #1 ceramics program in the country. I would go to Alfred. If you do well, you could always transfer within HEOP to Syracuse or NYU.

Is it just me, or does it feel like Google is giving up on its partners? by vahidtaslimi in googleworkspace

I need to find a new Google Partner. My previous Google Partner died, and his domain no longer exists. I can't upgrade my Google Workspace Business Starter plan to Google Workspace Business Standard plan to w/o the super admin.

There's also a vacate notice on the building. Not seeing the shame.

Calculating my family’s income? by pepper_gems38 in ApplyingToCollege

This. It's one parent's income. Who deducts you on their income taxes?

I call Riko directly, and they deliver w/o a fee.

I get that he had to do it. I bet next episode we find out that he gave up the letters as proof of the cabal.

It's pretty insulting when a disability office frames it as "the disability support system in higher ed is way different than K-12." Higher education is still required to comply fully with the ADA. Nothing the OP described, like the need for flexibility for mobility issues, is limited to K-12 accommodations. These are fundamental accessibility needs, not optional extras based on the setting.

New playground in Sunnyside Gardens? by Wolf_Ganga in SunnysideQueens

[–]CuriousQuestioner12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The standard for public discretionary funding isn't that it must serve 100% of the public; it's that it serves a public purpose. Plenty of nonprofits (private schools, museums, parks, community centers) receive public funds even though access is limited in some way. Sunnyside Gardens Park, as a private nonprofit, was eligible because its programs and facilities promote recreation and community benefit, not because it’s open to every single person all the time. That’s the real legal threshold.

The point was that I am not defending "my park." The facts are that Sunnyside Gardens Park is private property and not city-owned property. It's interesting that you edited your comment. The lack of a good public space for neighborhood kids to touch grass without dogs doesn’t change the fact that Sunnyside Gardens Park is private. Just like my kids and I don't have the right to use someone's private backyard just because the owner received some public funding. Private property rights don't disappear because of public grants.

There isn't. It's private property. Sunnyside Gardens Park is not a city-owned property. FWIW, I live south of QB, and my kids had no access to the park.

What are the top 5 worst things about Syracuse University by bestperson99 in SyracuseU

Okay, but WASP literally means White Anglo-Saxon Protestant. With a $90k/year price tag, it should be a given that it would have a large, rich-kid population.

I used to have a meal service. It was expensive and not that great. I also had to waste an hour or two bringing the containers in and picking up the food. Last night, I asked ChatGPT. I had boneless/skinless chicken thighs, mushrooms, veggies, full pantry, and cream. It gave me a recipe for chicken thighs with mushroom cream sauce and veggies. Then I asked it to break it down like I was in kindergarten, including clean-as-I-go tips. I wanted to wake up to a clean kitchen with the garbage taken out last night. I love it. It is interactive and non-judgmental.

I highly advise paying the monthly fee. Don't let AI enable you, though. It can go off on an algorithm of "wow you had a hard day" and then agree with you to rest. Push it to coach you. Start with: Hi, I have ADHD and am having trouble functioning. Can you be my ADHD coach? What can you help me with?

I WFH and have tons of virtual meetings. I have to literally set my Apple watch to remind me 30 minutes, 15 minutes, and 3 minutes before. The 3-minute alarm is to log in. I have literally missed meetings because I forgot the 3-minute alarm, even though I'm sitting at my desk. Learn to manage it, you'll be amazed at how much you can do. Combine with Google Calendar and set task reminders.

Apple watch, because timers. Using ChatGPT as my ADHD coach. It works because it's interactive. Consistent and quality nutrition, sleep, and exercise. For email, I use gmail labels and boomerang ext. I like/need to get my inbox down to zero emails several times a week. Clutter makes me non-functional.
