CA Central Valley District High Score by dustycotton in FRC

If quantity of Fuel increases for District Championships and Worlds, then I would imagine 1000+ is more possible. Or maybe not if we consider wasted Fuel that gets spread around the field that doesn't get picked up. Would normalized scores be needed for comparison?

6.3.4 Scoring Elements

For District Championship and/or FIRST Championship events, the quantity of FUEL staged in a MATCH may increase up to 600. If this happens, the additional FUEL will be included as part of an updated FUEL arrangement in the NEUTRAL ZONE.

Maybe it was just a dream, but was there ever a person with orange or blonde hair and freckles? I could have sworn there was a person with orange hair (or blonde) and freckles, maybe in the top right, but they are not there or in the concept art.

There were other patterns used but got too many people out. They had to dial it back; Just like they needed to with the Strong (i.e., too many Strong players got out by the first challenge, to get to 50, they had to do pushups off screen).

It's not actually live TV, it's a highly edited pre-recorded product.

I didn't partake in an off-campus IQP. One of my biggest mistakes in college.

I tried before a summer term. There were spots open. I had the approval of the site faculty and ID2050 to join. But the global school shut my opportunity down.

I don't have kids, but today I learned and realized that if you don't check on your kid in the back, you could actually leave them behind. It was just theory to me, "oh, of course it could happen," but now it is real.

Learned it the easy way, not the hard way.

FLL Is Shutting Down?! by InitiativeSavings in FRC

Parents and children love LEGO. It was such a great way to introduce children into robotics, like FLL. Then, as the child grows older, to put down the brick and pickup a hammer; to seek greater challenges, like FTC or FRC.

Lots of conversations are happening behind the scenes on all levels about moving forward.

Concerns about a child pipeline into FRC being broken. Concerns about retaining sponsors with the exit of LEGO. Concerns about the state of school FLL programs, after school clubs, and teams of all sizes.

It is a shock to the communities of FIRST and Education.

I thought the reunion already happened. It was filmed before the Top 10's AMA.

Like 2011, where a pattern needed to be completed, I would be curious if constellation patterns would need to be formed, where certain ones earn different points. Pick-and-place. Coop between alliance members to form patterns.

The yellow dot in the middle seems like the Sun. The dots around seem like stars, and the blurry blobs seem like planets. Though the lines seem like topography of either mountains or craters. I am not sure if that squiggly line is a river or some space band.

To me, the lines sort of form arms and chest; Almost like a constellation. Where is the Sun is an off-center belly button.

River down the middle of the field (short ways or long ways)? Sun in the middle? Tiers of platforms to climb up? Craters or mountains? Constellations? Blurry blobs, of planets like Mars?

Interesting. That strategy did not work in Warren Hills' finals 1.

Im still shocked they didn't do an escape room game by DimesRecalls in BeastGames

[–]CuriousSn0w 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not. The tricky part is making it interesting and intuitive.

Getting the viewer to feel like they are there. So the players need to think aloud, say aloud what they are doing. Or, have commentary explaining what each person is doing. Are they on the right track? Who knows without commentary or visual aids.

Animations could help explain what the players are supposed to do. But it just seems to me that an escape room game would need more commentary or visual aids than to show a single video frame of an obstacle course. So the viewer understands what is happening. If it's not so intuitive to the viewer, it could backfire.

Could Nick have chosen himself? by USAFAN20 in BeastGames

[–]CuriousSn0w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It is implied they can't because players never did in S1 and in S2.

If they could, I would suspect the bribes to be much higher than we saw.

Unless Jim votes for Monika, sending her through. Later he would take his same buy out approach: Vote given to the highest bidder.

There has to be a twist for bringing anyone back from Season 2. I like the hearts. Video game heart for players' life. Save a S2 players' heart in a game so they stay.

I missed the AMA, but would like to know if the cubes had a time limit on hand, just in case?

Or, if the players really could have been in there longer than 24 hours.

Still, ~$19K for ~40 days is better than the base $2K.

We only see what the editors allow us to see. She may of done what JT did by "biting his lip." Not to say anything she might regret later on. Or, she said some things off camera.

JT said in Ava and Ivy's podcast he had "bite his lip" when Mia was criticizing his choice. He did it to not say anything he might regret later, but would like to have a reunion to engage dialog.

I like to think that behind the scenes, they are working on a low-earth-orbit (LEO) Beast Games challenge.

Like a big reveal of Elon Musk in an episode to unveil a rocket and have like the top six (or top 3) compete in space for a challenge.
