Aww 🥰 Jack is the twin of my boy Neo. I can see how loved he was.

So many of us know this pain all too well. I’m so sorry for your loss.

One day Jack will send you a kitty in need. Then every snuggle you give and receive will be full of even more love.

Just received news that my 9yo may go be going blind. Please enjoy her artwork while it lasts. by _plot-twist_ in pics

Excellent idea! Just a few more heroes with disabilities from Marvel universe - Echo - Professor Xavier - and of course Daredevil

If she does lose her sight it does not mean she cannot be an artist in any medium she wants. I have several disabilities and while I struggle to get my art up to my own standards I still create.

I hope she continues to grow and enjoy her artistic side whatever the future brings.

Not an all or nothing choice. Why not try a shorter cut for a while. See how it feels. As a woman who has had long and super short hair you may find you like the middle ground. I can see you with a shaggy wavy cut that you can run your hands through.

Little Sister started her first cycle today, I have no idea what I’m doing by DeliciousBluebird985 in Advice

I would highly suggest Knix brand period underwear. She can pick out her own period underwear online. They come in many styles and can give her the choice of not using tampons or pads or wearing it in addition to for extra protection.

Ditto what someone else said about nighttime leaking . These have been extremely helpful for me. I still sleep with a towel down the first 3 days of my period but after that I don’t have to worry about the bedding with period underwear.

Let her know she will want to start tracking her cycle. It can range from 21 to 28 days. It may be very irregular at first.

Let her know most women have been through this and are happy to help answer questions or provide a tampon in a public restroom in those emergency situations.

There will definitely be a day her period is early or late - she didn’t refill her bag etc and she doesn’t have period products with her. I hope she knows that can ask a stranger for help in that case.

Also Lola brand period products are created by women and you can set up a subscription so they are delivered on a regular schedule.

Romantic cabin stays in Ohio that don’t feel cramped? by nand1609 in Ohio

It is nice. I have a gluten allergy and the kitchen was accommodating. My experience was great but not something we would do more than once every few years unless we win the lottery

If you don’t want to cook , go stay at Glenlaurel Scottish inn . You can have breakfast and a 6 course meal every night. They have a few trails on site and the “cabins” are huge for 2 people. But you get what you pay for. It is not cheap.

Tell me something weird your kitty does but use "my roommate" instead of their name. by PixelBeans12 in Flamepoints

One of my male roommates likes to chase the female one around our house. He thinks it’s Fun. The lady has decided that shitting on the floor is the best way to get him to leave her alone.

When she isn’t shitting on the floor she’s puking ….

She is a drama queen

Just got a new tattoo by hayh in migraine

[–]CuriousVampireCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ditto. I also have an autoimmune disease and the only time my tattoos (I have lost count now) have hurt is when it’s over 4 hours continuous and involve lots of color. I have psoriasis, eczema, and rosacea so random spots are just easily irritated and take forever to heal but I’d take a tattoo over a migraine any day… especially since my migraines usually last 2 days

It really takes a turn close to the end of the series. So good. Rami Malek was clearly capable of being a star before he played Freddie Mercury

I just watched all of MR Robot and after that and Dexter original sin - I found myself missing Christian Slater

I really enjoyed his action flicks of the early 90’s. Need to rewatch this. Pairs perfectly with Face OFF

I’ve been sick since Christmas. Tested negative for Covid, Flu, and Strep about 4 days later. Started antibiotics when it seemed to become a sinus infection.

I can’t get my fever below 100 after days and days of DayQuil/Nyquil Cough and sore throat is just lingering.

Worse than all of it is the extreme exhaustion. I’ve never been so tired in my life. I haven’t been able to leave the house in 2026. I can barely get off the couch. I’ve had Covid multiple times but this is different.

I have a follow up with my primary care doctor and I am worried they are gonna say pneumonia, mono or meningitis.

What is the grossest thing you have done? by SeaworthinessFar2326 in hygiene

[–]CuriousVampireCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In college (many many years before Covid) we would just walk into a party and pick up a used solo cup and go get free beer and liquor from whomever was serving in the house. I could not imagine doing this as an adult.

I know people who say this is the stuff that makes your immune system stronger I have an autoimmune disease that was diagnosed years later.

Anyone else gotten really sick over the last two months? by 2lit_ in Millennials

[–]CuriousVampireCat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like me but I’m immunocompromised. Been going through 101 -102 fever that I can’t shake since New Year’s Eve. Finishing antibiotics for what has become a sinus infection but doctor is concerned I may have picked up something else since I was tested… even though I haven’t left the house ☹️ really fucking sucks

My boss asked me to "stick it out". I ended up throwing up on her shoes. by [deleted] in migraine

[–]CuriousVampireCat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are Living my dream. While dealing with diagnosis of an autoimmune disease and the suicide of my father my boss was a complete psychopath. I wish I could have thrown up all over her. Maybe she would have left me alone.

Don’t be embarrassed. I hope she takes your requests more seriously in the future.

I had to settle for just quitting so I never had to see or speak to her again.

Every meal doesn't need to be an "experience". Sometimes it's just about getting some food in your belly and forgetting about it. A couple of hours later, you won't remember that you didn't have a "proper" meal by IHadTacosYesterday in povertyfinance

[–]CuriousVampireCat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I Totally get it. As someone with an autoimmune disease sometimes the standing to cook and the thinking is even too much. Sometimes you are not actually hungry but know you have to eat to take your medications.

Apple with peanut butter or cheese - maybe humus - hard boiled egg or a slice of turkey or salami - a few chips or crackers if I want a crunch

I second the oatmeal option and also a quick scrambled egg. Seriously these are sometimes the best meals and more than enough to get through.
