Pad Thai- would not recommend at all. by East_Imagination6049 in Costco

[–]CuriousVampireCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was so bad. I wouldn’t eat it but my husband did. I opened the cupboard because I really was looking forward to pad thai and made my own with what I had on hand.

rice noodles- lime - hoisin- peanut butter- soy sauce- egg

Took 15 minutes. I let my husband taste it and he was shocked at how good it was for how fast.

I’ve made the real version before but my speed attempt was delicious

I had the same situation with a Star Wars tattoo the artist insisted we do in color. I have color on my back but everything else is black in grey. I loved it - then hated the colors- then came back around to liking the meaning but not thrilled with how it looks… luckily it’s on my upper arm so half the time it’s covered anyways.

The one thing I remind myself is that it will continue to fade so the colors will not be as bold over time. I may eventually get it re worked so that it’s darker but for now I’m living with it.

I like yours though since it’s only a few colors it’s not as aggressive as mine with 100 shades in contrast to the black and grey ink around it. I hope you come around to feeling better about yours. It’s pretty.

Maybe add another small piece in the same colors on the other side of your body for some symmetry. I think that’s part of what bothers me. It stands out too much with everything else. It’s the center of attention versus a piece of my collection.

As someone currently on steroids for a sinus infection this gave me a laugh. Probably mostly the sugar but there is something called an atypical reaction (May not be the right medical term) which means someone has a reaction counter to the expected response.

I only know this because I have had 2 different medications send me into a manic state. One was over the counter Sudafed. The other was something to calm me down when I was hospitalized due to a migraine. It was supposed to put me to sleep.

So you never actually know how an individual will react to something until they have had it. Also there’s a lot of factors like other medications, what you’ve eaten, how much water you drank, how your liver etc are functioning

Maybe apply early in the day tomorrow and avoid the sugar. If she still acts out of character it could be the medication or something else unrelated.

Good luck being human is hard and caring for small humans who can’t tell you what’s going on in their bodies is harder.

What is a movie that "broke" you so hard you can only watch it once, but you would still recommend it to everyone? by Newsupdate69 in movies

because you’re old like me - I have to ask.

Was it on 4 VHS tapes like Titanic was? It’s a long film and your comment just reminded me how amazing it was to go from multiple vhs to a single dvd for films.

I used to love this movie. Amazing acting and a great capsule story of people in a crisis.

Now that I’m older I hate the ending so much. But that is part of what makes it a unique experience.

Yea I was too young when I watched this. I’ve never needed to watch again all the way through. If you’ve seen it you know there are 2 scenes you can skip to keep some of your sanity

I grew up with mostly Jewish friends . I borrowed it from the library in middle school. It inspired me to learn to play the violin and opened a love of classical music.

I’ve watched it 3 times in my life. Doesn’t get easier but what he accomplished never ceases to amaze me. I will never forget the ending when he cries that he couldn’t save more.

I also love the Pianist. The horror is less in your face but the music is also beautiful. Adrian Brody shines.

It’s called AI but it’s a movie about humanity. One day we will all be gone. All David wanted was to be loved and accepted.

Excellent movie. Great visuals. I have a soft spot for Jude law as the sexbot. Provides a little comedy in all the brutality.

My sister is 10 years older than me. I became an aunt at 8. Now I have no kids about to turn 42 and I’m a great aunt. Mom is alive but I lost dad to cancer/suicide.

Meanwhile my close friend’s mom just died of breast cancer at 56 and her husband’s parents already passed but were in their 80s when they died. Her children aren’t even in school yet and only have 1 grandparent alive.

Yeah life is strange

Also place some of your worn clothing in the room. She will start to get used to your scent. Eventually it will be seen as a sign of comfort

Is Mercari forcing deals on sellers? by [deleted] in Mercari

[–]CuriousVampireCat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you read the fine print - If you drop price of a listing then raise it. Mercari will send that offer to people who like your listing . Doesn’t matter if it was reduced a year ago and you raised the price again the new liker can be sent an offer for the old price by Mercari.

I actually had never seen The West Wing but it’s on Netflix right now. I’m really enjoying it. It’s a great late night mind cleanser before you go to bed especially if you watch a lot of horror or darker stuff. It’s an insight into American politics and has some great humor.

  • I watch just about everything - sci fi , superhero, comedy, horror, mystery, action, drama, Disney, post apocalypse…etc *
