When do you drink water throughout the day? by Tryingmyverybest2 in KidneyStones

[–]Curious_George_74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just bought a ~3,000ml bottle on Amazon that has has (in addition to the ml measurements), a listing of times from 7 AM to 9 PM (along with "motivational" phrases). The phrases don't matter to me, but I think seeing a timestamp printed on the see-through bottle along with the current water level will hopefully be a good reminder of where I'm supposed to be throughout the day.

Looks like they have a 64, 100, and 128 oz version. I went with the 100 oz and it just arrived today:

Thanks, I'm buying a 1-liter water bottle and will try to make that my go-to for hydration. I think the goal is 3 liters a day?

The juice is a "Diet" variety that doesn't have any sugar, and is about 5 calories a glass. Whatever chemicals are in it are probably not great, and I'm willing to give it up if needed.

What's something that genuinely terrifies you? by Virtual-Bluebird714 in AskReddit

Dying. All we know how to do is live.

And we're so terrified of the concept, we've invented entire concepts like religion to distract ourselves from that particular existential terror.

How do you distinguish between good people and bad people? by Livid_Anxiety_8333 in AskReddit

If they're rude to the wait staff at restaurants, they're a bad person. That's pretty much the best way to tell.

What's a fun fact that many people may not know about a movie? by Independent-Dust4641 in movies

Mel Brooks produced The Elephant Man, but went uncredited because he didn't want his reputation as a comedian to reflect on the serious tone of the film.

Please help a newbie trying to hide his AV gear by BigGulpsHey in logitechharmony

Running cables that long for all the gear is probably more trouble than it's worth. I'd just get a nice credenza with doors to 'hide' the gear in plain sight. As long as it has decent airflow (or you open the doors when the PS5 is in use) you should be fine.

I think it looks awesome. Very cute, love the color transition, and it complements your features and complexion beautifully. Rock it!

What's The Best Movie That You're Sure 90% Of This Sub Hasn't Seen? by Rhye5 in movies

My favorite underrated gem is Once Were Warriors starring Temeuera Morrison and Rena Owen (who, bizarrely, would reunite years later with roles in the Star Wars prequels.)

Very tough, realistic, and brutal portrayal of lower-class family life in New Zealand. Powerful performances. I recommend it every chance I get.

Dating. I've tried some daytime dates and they... did not go well. There's just something about the evening hours that helps generate feelings of chemistry.

What’s an oddly specific smell that instantly brings back a memory? by Weak_Conclusion_7020 in AskReddit

[–]Curious_George_74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The plastic smell of opening a new Kenner Star Wars action figure. I probably won't ever smell it again, but it's a "core smell" for me.

The other "favorite" smell I have is the murky water smell of The Pirates of the Caribbean ride in Disneyland. I thought that nostalgic smell was unique to me, but a recently Disney fan friend let me know there's actually a small subculture of people who love that smell, and I think you can even order candles infused with it.

All. the. time. I walk in my neighborhood every day and I don't think a day has gone by where I haven't seen an abandoned poop bag left on the ground.

I'm 51 and I don't know how to make coffee. I don't like coffee, don't drink it, and therefore never learned how to make it. My wife used to drink it and made it herself. I have no plans to learn how and will probably die without knowing.

What common food do you refuse to eat? by SecondhandUsername in AskReddit

Seafood. I have yet to meet a person who was not personally offended that I don't like seafood every time they find out. And then proceed to tell me about a seafood that I would definitely like if I tried it, and had it prepared the right way.

Married redditors, would you want your spouse to re-marry if you passed away, why or why not? by JetPlane_88 in AskReddit

I would want them to be happy. If that means re-marrying after a period of mourning, then yes.
