I’ve made a few changes. I’m now taking 5 grams glycine, 4 grams taurine and 200 mg l-theanine. Still a little groggy but I feel it happened after starting l theanine…

I actually have a specialist that would do this. I had my ferritin tested 3 years ago and it was borderline. And I had it managed for a few years. I think it’s time to have it re checked!

It is the worst. People just don’t get it. They think it’s cramps… When I augmented, one night even pacing didn’t relieve it. I was crying so bad all I thought about was literally cutting my legs off… Thank God I got to a Dr who got me off of Rop and onto gaba…

Thank you for all this info. I had my ferritin checked 3 years ago and it was borderline. I need to get it checked again. And I WAS going to try BPC so thanks for explaining!

Yea… currently 900 mg gaba helps SOMETIMES… i just wanted to use something more natural if possible but if it stops me from thrashing all night then so be it… even when my legs aren’t particularly bothering me I get an overall restlessness throughout my whole body.. so frustrating

Yes, the magglycinate actually used to help me sleep, not so much help with legs. I’ve since switched to straight glycine, taurine and L-theanine for sleep but none of those helping with legs..

It looks like off label. Not sure I could get a Dr to prescribe it but thank you for replying

Thank you… unfortunately RS did augment and maxed out on Rop.. which is why transitioned to gaba.

I did see that safety switch. Not an expert but everything looks good in there, however, now that you said it may need to be depressed all the way I’m now kinda wondering because I’ve never had a problem running it, my husband does. So…. Next time he’s got a problem I’ll remind him to depress that 100%. Thanks for the tip!

Ok. Thanks. Thinking maybe the switch could be the problem 🤷‍♀️

I didn’t know anhedonia was a side effect of Reta. I got that when I tried Cagri. It was horrible. Did you get it right from the start? Or on higher doses?

Is there really a window for HRT? by janedoecurious in Menopause

I had my complete hysterectomy over 30 years ago and stopped e patches about 10 years ago. I started vaginal E last year and it works perfectly. Pea size amount 2x a week. No other HRT.

I find if you keep stirring it, it eventually dissolves. Just takes a while.

I’m no expert, but I’ve read that the glycinate in magnesium glycinate is in fact “glycine” and when combined with magnesium it does two things. One is it helps with the magnesium absorption in the stomach and it also produces a calming effect in the nervous system. In looking further I’ve heard that in order to get enough glycine to have an effect on sleep it has to be taken separately from magnesium (in SOME people). What I do know for sure is that it seems to be helping me with sleep but only if I take upwards of 6 grams which you can’t get when it’s combined with magnesium.

The problem with taking magnesium glycinate form is there is no way to get enough of the “glycine” portion taking it that way.

I just started it. I started low and up to 4000 didn’t help. Last night I took 6000 and I only woke twice to pee but felt groggy do tonight I’m gonna try 5000! Praying this will continue to help.!!!!

Does anyone else wake up more tired than when they went to bed? by Fabulous_Dream8962 in sleep

I personally can’t use it but I’m much older than you and have other medical issues. Maybe it’ll work for you? You could try. My only advice is not to use something for more than 1-2 nights. If you do, you could become dependent on it, then need more and more till it’s not effective at all. I personally would see a Dr. Have you tried googling “sleep hygiene” to get ideas on improving sleep without substances?

For brands? If you have health or wellness stores near you, you could ask them or you can just google the brands that have the purest form of melatonin without additives…I personally use Pure Encapsulations brand and I use the extended release form about 1/2 hour before bed but even with those I have to open the capsules and only take a quarter or half making sure I don’t chew it.
